Charlie & Eddie

First month of high school is DONE! Charlie has been doing great so far at adjusting to the new environment and making new friends. He has excellent teachers who provide constant feedback and updates. He's loving his new uniform, even wears his school sweater when he's not in school. So far in school they start the day with a morning dance party, they do math & language, and he enjoys his lunch in the cafeteria every day with all the other grade 9 students. Eddie is missing having Charlie around the house. He sends him off every morning and patiently waits for him when he's due home. We are so proud of Charlie and the progress he's making.

World Food Dinner #3 - Austrailia

This dinner we decided to adventure to Australia! As the Aussies would say, we had "Snags & Chips" for our meal. Snags are what we would call sausages, and chips are fries. We also did some research to learn about Australia and the places we would want to visit. Charlie loved the aquarium, the zoo, spending a day at Darling Harbour, riding the ferry, and visiting Cockatoo Island.

Eddie had another spa day this week! He loves getting all dolled up for the ladies. Thanks for making our boy so handsome.

World food Dinner #2! This time we are celebrating New Orleans. Charlie researched walking tours, unique hotels to stay at, famous historical places to visit, and of course, the best restaurants. New Orleans is most famous for Mardis Gras, but it would be too busy for Charlie, so we would stick to trying the food. This week we made Jambalaya. Although it's typically made with fish, we decided to use rotisserie chicken and smoked chicken sausage instead. Charlie was a big help with getting it ready and always has a ton of fun in the kitchen. It was delicious!!

We're back! July was a busy month, so we took the time to take a break from social media. Now we have some exciting stories to share from the past month and going forward in August. In July, we had our annual week trip to Sauble Beach. It was wonderful to have Eddie with us this time and to reflect on how much has changed in just one year. Happy 1st birthday to our handsome boy Eddie! For being such a good boy Charlie gave him birthday themed bones. We love you! 🥰

We love food, especially international food! But because of the pandemic, we can't travel and experience new foods around the world...until now! Every Sunday we are going to have travel-themed dinners. Last Sunday we started with Paris! Charlie learned about the city, investigated the top 10 things to do, and cooked a delicious Paris-inspired dish called Croque-monsieur (a fancy grilled cheese). We even went to a French bakery to get the bread. YUM!
