What am I missing? 👇

First, I want to tell you a secret 🤫👇

I am a teacher, and I have taught in Ontario public school classrooms for 20 years. As a teacher, I can tell you that if you think you will not have to work on literacy skills outside of school, whether in French Immersion or English, you are dangerously wrong.

Teachers are stretched thinner than ever.

School leaders are trying to implement a science-of-reading-based curriculum that many probably don’t even understand.

This is not the time to hand over literacy skills to school and expect your kiddo to come back a great reader and writer.

You will have to help them outside of school. In French Immersion, you may need to take more time and get a bit more support if you are not literate in French yourself. That is the only difference.

When I tried to find support for my kiddo, I found a Mbappe Special (keeping with the French theme 🙂).

That’s when Kelly’s Reading Club began.

Now, when you need to reach out for help with your grade 1 or 2 French Immersion kiddo, you will find us!

At first, it was just me supporting both French Immersion and English students in English reading, writing, and math.

Today, I am so fortunate to have a team of amazing tutors (most are bilingual) who can support kiddos in French AND English reading, writing, and math 🤩

👉If you are looking for support like this for your kiddo, comment WAITLIST, and I will add you to our September tutoring waitlist.

Ordering workbooks (and probably only doing a few pages of them anyway) is not the only way to teach your kiddo to read.

You can:
🎲play phonics games
📚read together
🖍️have fun with a phonics colouring book
(comment FUN and I’ll send you the link)

Happy summer reading ☀️📚♥️

Kinda chic to be a part of Kelly’s Reading Club where we tutor kids and empower parents to support learning.

Kinda chic to comment “WAITLIST” and get on our list for September 2026, since we have a limited number of spots.

Kinda chic to know that your family will have the learning support you need ♥️this school year.
