If you are feeling lost helping your 6 to 8-year-old learn to read, check this out 👇

You've tried everything.

📱The reading apps.

😖The UFLI homework every single night.

Nothing is sticking. 💔

Spring has FINALLY arrived 🌞🌸👇

I asked my reading students if they got to go outside with their class (beyond the 10 min recess).

No 🙁

When I taught grade 1, I used to sneak my class outside on a nice day.

Here's how I did it...by telling any nosey busybody who liked to enforce "instructional time" 👮‍♀️ that we were learning outside.

It was a radical concept to some in the school, but you can actually learn outside. In fact, it might even be better for the 🧠 to be outside instead of in the toxic heat of the school.

If you still have to do reading homework at this point in the year, or you just want to help your kiddo keep up with reading (or perhaps even enjoy it) you, too, can learn outside.

Don't be afraid. Learning happens in the wild just like it does at the kitchen table. In fact, it's even better.

Get out and enjoy the sunshine 🌞

Isn't this the worst time to think about tutoring? 👇

Not if your kiddo is behind (or you want them to maintain skills).

Of course, you don't want to deal with 😭all summer, having to spend time indoors with a tutor when the sun is (finally) shining ☀️

I get it. I was sick of dealing with tutoring 😭, too, and that's why I built Kelly's Reading Club. We aren't like regular tutors.

Here's why:

⌚Our lessons are 30 minutes online, so there are still 23.5 hours left in the day for all the other good stuff in life (we fully respect your kiddo's time)

📝We provide reports after each lesson so you can see the progress in real time

🤩We guarantee that learning will be fun
(Warning: your child may be sad when the lesson is over)

Does your K–3 kiddo 😡😢 reading time at home?👇

Maybe they…
🤔Guess at words or freeze when a page looks “too big”
😜 Get silly / distracted every time you pull out a book
💔Say “I’m dumb” or “I can’t read” even though you know they’re bright
🙄Turn reading into a power struggle, so you end up avoiding it too

You’re not alone, and it’s not because you’re “doing it wrong” as a parent.

Reading is a skill that feels really vulnerable for a lot of kids – especially when they feel behind.

I've seen this both as a parent and a teacher.

That’s why I created Kelly’s Reading Club📚 in Leslieville.

It’s a small, in‑person group for K–3 students where we:
⭐️Build real skills in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
⭐️Help kids feel successful and proud of themselves
⭐️Make reading feel more like a fun club than another worksheet

📍Leslieville (Locus Big Kids at Gerrard E. and Greenwood Ave)
🧒 K–3 students
⏰️ 60 minutes per week – Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings
👩🏽‍🏫Taught by me, Ms. Kelly – certified teacher with all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Google reviews from parents

To help you test it out, I’m offering a January 2‑class starter for $99 (introductory price)…

You’ll get:
✅️2 Reading Club classes in January
✅️ A quick reading skills check
✅️A simple Reading Report Card so you know exactly where your child is at and what to focus on next

If it’s a good fit, you’ll have the option to keep their spot in the group for the rest of the term.

I’m keeping this starter offer limited so each child gets lots of attention.

Comment or DM me “CALL” and I’ll reply with more details + next steps if you want to get started!

No pressure, just a chat about what your child needs and whether Reading Club is the right next step. 💛
