2021-2022년 뉴튼국제학교는 여러면에서 가장 성공적인 한해로 기록되게 되었다는 반가운 소식을 올립니다.

토론토대와 워털루대 100% 합격. 올해의 하이라이트는 뉴튼국제학교 졸업생들이 토론토대학을 포함하여 캐나다 유명대학에 100% 합격하였다는 소식입니다. 특히, 토론대대학과 워털루대학에 지원한 학생 전원이 합격하여 계속하여 뉴튼국제학교가 명문고등학교임을 증명하고 있습니다. 더 반가운 소식은 과반이 넘는 학생들이 해당학교로부터 이Coop참여 (급여받는 인턴쉽) 기회도 같이 부여 받았습니다. 이들 학생들의 그동안의 노고를 치하하고 합격을 축하드립니다.

슐릭경영체험과 가벨클럽 수료. 캐나다에서 사립고등학교로는 유일하게 슐릭경영체험 프로그램과 가벨클럽(Gavel Club)을 운영하고 있습니다. 슐릭경영체험 프로그램 즉, Newton Experiential Education Program은 욕대학교 (슐릭경영대학원, Schulich Business School)가 공동으로 진행하였는데3개월과정을 수료하고 학생들은 해당교수로 부터 추천서와 수료증을 받았습니다. 아울러, 스피킹과 발표력을 위한 가벨클럽도 성공적으로 운영하여 학생들의 스피킹스킬과 발표실력을 높이데 크게 기여하여 학생들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있습니다. 특히, 슐릭경영체험은 학생들이 경영관련학과 지원시 합격을 위한 결정적인 요인으로 작용하고 있습니다.

수학.컴푸터.경영 경영 경시대회 수상. 뉴튼국제학교의 장점 중의 하나는 학생들에게 수학.과학.컴푸터.경영등 주요 경시대회 참여를 권유하고 적극지원하여 우수한 성적을 거두고 있습니다. 대표적으로 수학의 토플(TOEFL of Mathematics)로 불리는 워털루대학의 유클리드수학경시대회 (Euclid Contest)를 포함하여,캐나다수학경시대회 (Canadian Mathematics Open Challenge), 기업가정신경시대회 (CAPSIM Entrepreneurship Competition), 토론토기업시뮬레이션경시대회(Toronto Business Simulation Entrepreneurship Competition)을 들 수 있습니다. 뉴튼국제학교는 유클리드 수학경시대회에서 종합 4위, 기업경영 경시대회에서는 종합 1위를 차지하는 쾌거를 이루었습니다. 한가지 놀라운 사실은 유클리드경시대회에 참여한 학생 전원이 워털루대학으로부터 합격증을 받는 영광을 찾지 하였습니다.

뉴튼가족 단합대회

뉴튼국제학교는 캐나다데이를 맞아 직원들과 단합대회를 하였습니다. Etobicoke에 위치한 Humber River를 따라 커누를 즐기는 행사를 하였습니다. 오랜만에 교사들과 직원들이 함께하여 단합도 도모하고 심신을 단련하고 스테레를 해소하면서 함버강 입구까지 노를 저어면서 주변의 아름다운 자연경치도 만끽할 수 있었습니다. “혼자 힘으로는 조금밖에 할수 없지만 함께하면 정말 많은 것을 이룰 수 있습니다.”라는 헬런 켈러 말이 정말 맞는 것 같습니다.

We felt the stress melt away as we dip our paddle into the pristine water and breath in the fresh air at the incredible beauty of nature. This paddling getaway not only made us feel better physically and mentally but also helped us strengthen our teamwork.

뉴튼국제학교에서 좋은 소식을 알려드립니다. 이번에 워터루대학에 11명이 지원하였는데 11명 모두가 워트루대학으로부터 합격증을 받았습니다. 한가지 중요한사실은 뉴튼국제학교에서 학생들에게 워터루대학 합격율을 높이기위해 워트루대학에서 주관하는 유클리드수학경시대회(Euclid Mathematics Contest)에 참여토록 권유하고 지원하였는데 11명 참여하여 모두가 수상하였는데 놀랍게도 이들 모두가 합격증을 받는 영광을 차지 하였습니다. 아울러, 이번에 합격한 학생들이 인턴쉽프로그램에 참여하면 더 큰 진전을 이루게됩니다. 재학중에 Coop (급여를 받는 인턴쉽 프로그램)으로 현장직 장체험 경험을 얻으면 졸업 후 취업하는데 큰 도움이 되기때문입니다. 워터루대학은 과학과 공대학생들이 가장 선호하는 대학입니다. 또한, 워터루대학은 북미에서 수학과 컴퓨터부분에서는 세계 최대의 연구 중심의 학교로, 수학학과 부분에서는 세계 최고의 학교로 알려 있습니다.

Good news! Good news! All the students who applied to the University of Waterloo this year received offers. Newton International College is very proud to announce that our students received a total of 11/11 offers from the University of Waterloo. During their academic school year at Newton, we advised students to enter the Euclid Mathematics Contest established by the University of Waterloo to increase the admission success rate. The fact that the students who accepted the OFFER also had the chance to participate in a Co-op (paid internship) makes this achievement much more deserving of praise.This implies that students will obtain important work experience during their time in college, which will be very helpful when they graduate and begin looking for jobs. Background: The University of Waterloo is the most desirable university for science and engineering students. It is the world's largest teaching and research centre for mathematics and computing and the only mathematics school in North America.

Waterloo대학에서 주최한 Euclid 수학경시대회에서 뉴튼국제학교가 4위를 차지하였습니다. 이번에 참여한 뉴튼국제학생들에게 축하의 말씀을 전합니다. Euclid 수학경시대회에는 전세계에서 19,000명이 넘는 학생들이 참여하는 경쟁이 높은 경시대회입니다.

Congratulation to NIC for ranking top 4 in the Euclid Mathematics Contest by the University of Waterloo.
Written by over 19,000 students worldwide every year, the Euclid Contest gives senior-level secondary-school students the opportunity to tackle novel problems with creativity and all of the knowledge they've gained in secondary-school mathematics. The contest's mix of short-answer and full-solution questions challenges students to practice communicating their thinking, and with the final questions some of the most challenging among all of our contests, the Euclid helps learners build perseverance, a key component of mathematical problem-solving.

뉴튼국제학교 12학년의 모든학생들이 캐나다에서 명성이 높은대학으로 부터 합격증을 받았습니다. 이번 6월에 졸업하는 Ashley도 예외는 아닙니다. 토론토대학을 포함하여 5개 최고의 대학에 응시하여 5개 대학 모두에서 합격증을 받았습니다. Ashley에게 큰 축하을 드리며 뉴튼의 자랑스러운 학생입니다.

뉴튼에서 학생들을 위해 소방훈련을 실시하였습니가. 우리학생들 이러한 소방훈련을 통해 화재 발생시 어떻게 단계적으로 대비를 해야하는 하는지 연습을 해보았습니다. 학생들이 대피절차를 확인하고 연습하는 것이 중요한 안전한 학교생활의 하나입니다.

Newton implemented a fire drill last week as a part of our safety controls. Schools must carry out regular fire drills and establish a clear, step-by-step evacuation plan that explains exactly what everyone should do in the event of a fire. Doing so is important for checking that the plan works in practice and familiarising everyone in the school with the evacuation process.
