Dr. Benjamin Solomon (U of Albany) Getting Math Right - We’ll introduce foundational math assessment practices supported by rigorous evidence, including curriculum-based measurement; principles of effective math intervention within the context of the instructional hierarchy; and review major instructional myths in math that have been shown to result in student anxiety and struggle. Dr. Amanda VanDerHeyden - The frameworks of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), the Science of Reading and the Science of Math are all grounded in the same science. Attendees will take away tactics to try right away in their own settings and web-based resources to start their own work to adopt science-based math instruction within their MTSS structures.
