Soon after my arrival in Canada, numerous parents requested me to encourage their children and youths to volunteer, one problem! I wasn’t volunteering :)
As a principle of faith, I’m expected to practice what I preach; and it all started 26+ years ago as a designated Imām at Hennick Humber Hospital and the rest is history!
My volunteer journey continues and has led me in the path of chaplaincy with first responders, international & local sports, and long-term care.

Congratulations to my beloved wife and sons for receiving the King Charles III Coronation Pin with distinction from the Honourable Michael Kerzner - Solicitor General of Ontario. This award pin when given recognition recognizes outstanding service and dedication to our community via Yusuf’s Day Of Hope (YDOH) 20th year anniversary in raising funds for SickKids Hospital, Hennick Humber Hospital, and DEEN Support Services.
This amazing recognition for YDOH is a great reflection of the dedication and commitment of all our organizers, sponsors, donors, volunteers, well-wishers, and attendees.

Humbling to meet Minister Michael Kerzner - Solicitor General of Ontario at a community event (13th Annual Community Safety Day in recognition of Emergency Services). Minister Kerzner has a sincere appreciation for all first responders!
Personally, as a chaplain in service to first responders, it’s humbling to share a meaningful message that I recently received from an outstanding detective of a municipal police service in Ontario, “…Imam Ally, I hope you’re getting some much-deserved rest. I know you’re always busy helping others and we’re thankful to know you and be your friends…”!

The handsome groom convinced his beautiful bride to agree that “his Imam from the hood” must officiate their nikāh. The smiles during the ceremony and afterwards were proof that the families and guests were all happy :)
By the way, did you notice the groom’s car? Well, now it’s the couple’s car 🥲.
The wedding was held at an amazing venue featuring acres of breathtaking lush green panoramic view where the countryside meets luxury.
A “Sunnah Table” at the nikāh ceremony is an elegant and blessed grazing display featuring some wholesome foods and drinks mentioned in the Qur’ăn and Prophetic traditions.

I heard of Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans but never thought that I’ll meet him, however, I was fortunate to meet him in Ottawa, thanks to Ottawa Muslim Cemetery
At our first meeting, we were kinda colour coded, won’t you agree? :)
Personally, I was mesmerized with Ustadh Ubaydullah’s command of grasping the attention of his listeners and I liked the way he delivered his messages. Ustadh Ubaydullah’s personality really caught my attention, his words opened my heart, but most of all, his life stories have many lessons and always full of humour :)

The best of du’a for our Queen (the heart of our family) - my amazing wife and incredible mom of Musa, Yusuf, and Sauleh - all praise be to Allāh for granting you another year of life…but our hearts don’t celebrate the date, our hearts celebrate you everyday in our lives. You fill our lives with love, joy, happiness, and most of all with the feeling of being blessed by Allāh!
We’re grateful that you’ve recognized the honour which Allāh has entrusted to you, because you don’t merely maintain a household, you’re nurturing hearts, shaping character, and raising future generations upon faith and righteousness which will become a lasting “sadaqa jariya” for you in both worlds, in shā Allāh. Additionally, you continue to be an outstanding “special-needs super mom” for Yusuf’s overall care!
We sincerely beg Allāh to preserve you and grant you sincerity in every good deed. May Allāh accept your efforts and raise your rank in both worlds, اللهم آمين.
