What happens when life leaves you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of your own strength?

This week on Let’s Get Real, I’m joined by Dr. Tamar Shtrambrand, PhD, a New York State-licensed clinical psychologist whose work focuses on helping people reconnect with the strengths they may have stopped seeing in themselves.

Before becoming a psychologist, Dr. Shtrambrand spent 20 years as an occupational therapist working with children and adults facing physical, developmental, and intellectual challenges. That experience continues to shape her holistic, whole-person approach to care today.

Together, we’ll talk about trauma, anxiety, grief, parenting, relationships, ADHD, autism, and the moments in life when we begin to lose sight of who we are.

We’ll also explore what it takes to reconnect with yourself, rebuild confidence, recognize your own resilience, and begin to see possibility again.

Because sometimes the strength we are searching for is already within us. We simply need help seeing it again.

LET’S GET REAL ......THE STRENGTH WITHIN YOU

When a Diagnosis Changes Everything: Life After the Diagnosis

What happens after the appointment is over, the diagnosis has been given, and you are left trying to figure out how to manage everyday life?

This week on Let’s Get Real, I’m joined by Janice Russell, known as the Overwhelm Slayer.

Janice helps people navigate the practical and emotional overwhelm that often follows a medical diagnosis. Whether someone is dealing with a brain-based disorder, autoimmune disease, chronic health condition, or another major change in health, life can suddenly feel harder to manage.

Appointments. Paperwork. To-do lists. Responsibilities. Time. Energy. Decisions.

The things that once felt routine can suddenly feel overwhelming.

In this conversation, we’ll talk about what happens when your health changes your life, how to regain a sense of control, and how small systems, support, and accountability can help you move forward.

We’ll also explore Janice’s own journey from people-pleasing perfectionist and longtime productivity professional to becoming the Overwhelm Slayer.

If you or someone you love has ever faced a diagnosis that changed everyday life, this is a conversation you will want to hear.

Redefining Success in Your Next Chapter

What happens when the version of success you worked so hard to create no longer feels like enough?

This Wednesday on Let’s Get Real, I’m joined by leadership coach and entrepreneur Aaron Quinn for a powerful conversation about success, identity, purpose, and what comes next.

Aaron spent more than 20 years working globally in advertising, media, and communications, including leading teams across multiple countries and cultures. He later stepped away from corporate life and began exploring mindfulness, coaching, personal development, and a different definition of what it means to live a good life.

Today, Aaron is especially interested in what he calls life’s “third act.” It’s that stage when the things that once defined success may matter less, and the desire to live more authentically becomes stronger.

We’ll talk about:

What happens when achievement stops fulfilling you
Why success can mean something very different in your next chapter
How to reconnect with who you are now
The questions worth asking in midlife
What it really means to create a meaningful life

If you’ve ever looked at your life and thought, “I’ve accomplished a lot, but what do I want now?” this conversation is for you.

What if the reason something feels “off” in your life has more to do with your environment than you realize?

This week on Let’s Get Real, I’m joined by Jillian Rothschild-Scholar, Master of Feng Shui and founder of Feng Shui in Motion.

Jillian has more than 15 years of experience and combines Classical Feng Shui with BaZi, Chinese astrology, Yijing, Qi Men Dun Jia, and other Chinese systems to help people gain clarity and make better decisions.

We’re getting real about:

• What Feng Shui really is, and what it is not
• Whether your home can actually keep you feeling stuck
• How your birth date and personal energy may influence your life
• Lucky and unlucky directions
• Relationships, health, wealth, career, and timing
• Simple changes you can make in your own space

Is Feng Shui really about moving furniture, or is there much more happening beneath the surface?

Join us for another thought-provoking conversation on Let’s Get Real.

What happens when we finally have the courage to tell our stories?

In this episode of Let’s Get Real, host Glenda Kroll, Life Strategist, sits down with Meg Stafford, award-winning author, psychotherapist, social worker, speaker, and storyteller, for an honest conversation about storytelling, healing, resilience, family relationships, cancer, humor, and human connection.

For more than 40 years as a psychotherapist, Meg has listened to people share some of the most personal parts of their lives. She has seen firsthand how telling the truth about our experiences can help us connect, understand ourselves, and realize we are not as alone as we sometimes believe.

Meg is an 18-time literary award winner and author of Topic of Cancer: Riding the Waves of the Big C.

Her newest memoir, Who Will Accompany You? My Mother-Daughter Journeys Far From Home and Close to the Heart, was written with her daughters, Kate and Gale. Their stories explore mother-daughter relationships, travel, courage, family connection, and what can happen when we step outside what is familiar.

Meg also believes that humor has an important place in even the most difficult chapters of our lives. As she says, the shortest distance between two people is a laugh.

In this conversation, we explore:

• Why telling your story can change your life
• The healing power of sharing your truth
• What 40+ years as a psychotherapist taught Meg about people
• Mother-daughter relationships and family connection
• Cancer, uncertainty, and resilience
• Using humor during difficult times
• Why our personal stories can bring people together
• Finding the courage to tell the stories we sometimes keep hidden

Your story doesn't have to be extraordinary to matter. Sometimes telling it is exactly what allows another person to say, “Me too.”

Why do good employees leave—and what role does company culture and leadership play in their decision to walk away?

On this episode of Let’s Get Real, host Glenda Kroll, Life Strategist, sits down with Mark Lewis, leadership coach, hiring expert, entrepreneur, professional speaker, and #1 bestselling author of GIVE A DAMN! — The Ticket to Cultural Change.

Mark believes businesses don't necessarily have a people problem—they often have a culture problem.

Poor communication, weak core values, selfish behaviour, lack of accountability, and ineffective leadership can slowly destroy a workplace culture and drive great employees out the door.

Mark brings decades of business and leadership experience to this conversation. After earning his MBA from Tulane University, he spent 13 years at IBM before co-founding Communiqué, which became the Gulf South’s fastest-growing ISP. He later served as President of the Louisiana Technology Council, helping Louisiana rise from 49th to 32nd nationally in technology employment. He has spent more than a decade coaching CEOs and executive teams and facilitating CEO roundtables.

In this conversation, we get real about:

• Why good employees leave
• What makes employees stay
• The behaviours that destroy company culture
• Hiring for culture versus hiring for skill
• Why poor communication damages teams
• How leaders unknowingly drive away top performers
• Employee engagement and retention
• Accountability and strong core values
• The importance of empathy, kindness, respect, and selflessness in leadership
• Making difficult leadership and hiring decisions
• Building a workplace where people actually want to stay

At the heart of Mark's philosophy is a remarkably simple idea: Give a damn.

Care about your people. Listen to them. Respect them. Hold people accountable. Create a culture where employees feel valued—and where leaders understand that how they treat people directly affects performance.

So, why do good employees leave?

And perhaps the bigger question is: What can leaders do before their best people decide it's time to go?

Let’s Get Real.
