Rhythm KABOOM! - 140+ Flash Cards 05/23/2023

The best music game ever! To play, students pull a card from a box and clap the rhythm; if correct, they keep the card, and if not, they return it to the box. If they draw a Kaboom card, they put all their cards back and start over. It's a game that can continue indefinitely, and I also use it as an informal assessment tool.

Rhythm KABOOM! - 140+ Flash Cards KABOOM! I enjoy hearing about educators' favorite lessons and games, and most of them are really engaging. But in my experience Kaboom! has been my number one. My students love playing rhythm Kaboom for various concepts, and it's versatile enough to use for centers, review games, substitute plans, a...

Hey everyone! Keeping a steady rhythm can be a challenging task to achieve for beginner players. Simply turning the metronome on is a good first step but might not be all that helpful. If you're a visual learner, like me, it helps to 'see' the rhythm along with hearing the beat of the metronome. So follow Buddy Blue, the rhythm ball, through 15 songs/exercises that will help strengthen your rhythm. You can use this as a class warmup by projecting it onto a Promethean board or you can practice in front of your computer at home. Happy practicing! Link in Bio OR https://youtu.be/_OzxpstRP0M

An iconic solo from an iconic tune: ☀️ Sunshine of Your Love ❤️ by Cream is a rock classic. The song ranked number 65 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". Bassist Jack Bruce wrote the classic riff after seeing 🙌🏻Jimi Hendrix 🙌🏻 in concert in 1967 and unofficially dedicated it to him. ‼️So, thanks, Jimi for inspiring this one‼️🙏 Enjoy Eric Clapton’s buttery solo on this timeless tune 🤘🏻

Today we’ll be creating some funky body beats that you can perform by yourself as a one-person self-contained drum machine! We’re only going to be using 3 sounds - a CHEST thump, a finger SNAP and a leg PAT -- I might sneak in another (can you guess which one?) So the challenge here is the coordination it’s going to take to blend all these sounds together. If you keep practicing, your coordination will get better; when this happens and you can play one pattern really well, start blending the different patterns together.
