The 1990s were a HUGE decade for space science! πŸš€βœ¨

From Hubble’s launch to the first deep views of the universe, NASA’s missions in the ’90s transformed how we understand black holes, exploding stars, gamma-ray bursts, and the cosmos itself. 🌌

A decade of discoveries that still shape astronomy today. And the best part? We’re only getting started. πŸ”

From 50,000 feet above Earth, the 2026 total solar eclipse looked absolutely incredible! πŸŒ‘β˜€οΈβœˆοΈ

NASA’s WB-57 aircraft raced along the path of totality after taking off from Iceland, giving scientists a unique view of the Sun’s corona from above the clouds. Captured with GoPro cameras, these breathtaking views show the eclipse from an entirely different perspective.

πŸ”₯ A fireball lit up the skies over the Pacific Northwest!

Hundreds of eyewitnesses across Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia reported a brilliant meteor on August 14 at 12:48 a.m. PDT.

The fireball traveled about 36 miles through Earth’s atmosphere at roughly 33,000 mph before breaking apart above Sim’s Corner. πŸ’₯ Its fragmentation released energy equivalent to about 10 tons of TNT, producing a shock wave that reached the ground.

Radar data suggests that small meteorites may have survived and landed in the area. β˜„οΈ

And one important detail: this fireball was NOT part of the Perseid meteor shower.

The universe is putting on a spectacular show in red, white, and blue.

From the explosive remains of a dead star to enormous star-forming regions, swirling galaxies, and mysterious dark matter, NASA’s space telescopes reveal a cosmos far more incredible than we can imagine.

✨ Cassiopeia A β€” the glowing remains of a massive star that exploded thousands of years ago.
⭐ NGC 3603 β€” home to one of the most massive young star clusters in our Milky Way.
🌠 Messier 94 β€” a beautiful spiral galaxy about 30,000 light-years across.
πŸŒ€ Galaxy Cluster β€” revealing a ghostly ring of dark matter around its center.

Different telescopes see different kinds of light, and when their observations are combined, we get a deeper look at the universe.

πŸ” The cosmos is full of fireworks we just need the right eyes to see them.

🌠 The Perseids are coming!

One of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year peaks tonight,
August 12–13, 2026 and this year could be extra special. 🌌

A new Moon means darker skies, giving you a better chance of spotting those bright Perseid meteors streaking across the night sky.

✨ Find a dark location
πŸ‘€ Give your eyes time to adjust
πŸ“± Put the phone away
🌠 Look up and enjoy the show!

The Perseids are created by tiny pieces of Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle burning up in Earth's atmosphere.

Would you stay up tonight to watch the meteor shower? πŸ‘‡

πŸ•·οΈ NASA’s telescopes reveal the Tarantula Nebula like never before!

Located about 160,000 light-years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud, the Tarantula Nebula is a massive stellar nursery filled with thousands of young stars. ✨

This stunning view combines three perspectives:
πŸ”΅ Chandra β€” X-ray light
🟑 Hubble β€” Optical light
πŸ”΄ Webb β€” Infrared light

Together, they reveal layers of hot gas, glowing clouds, dust, and newborn stars hidden across this incredible cosmic landscape.

🌌 Three telescopes. Three kinds of light. One breathtaking universe.
