The 1990s were a HUGE decade for space science! πβ¨
From Hubbleβs launch to the first deep views of the universe, NASAβs missions in the β90s transformed how we understand black holes, exploding stars, gamma-ray bursts, and the cosmos itself. π
A decade of discoveries that still shape astronomy today. And the best part? Weβre only getting started. π

From 50,000 feet above Earth, the 2026 total solar eclipse looked absolutely incredible! πβοΈβοΈ
NASAβs WB-57 aircraft raced along the path of totality after taking off from Iceland, giving scientists a unique view of the Sunβs corona from above the clouds. Captured with GoPro cameras, these breathtaking views show the eclipse from an entirely different perspective.

π₯ A fireball lit up the skies over the Pacific Northwest!
Hundreds of eyewitnesses across Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia reported a brilliant meteor on August 14 at 12:48 a.m. PDT.
The fireball traveled about 36 miles through Earthβs atmosphere at roughly 33,000 mph before breaking apart above Simβs Corner. π₯ Its fragmentation released energy equivalent to about 10 tons of TNT, producing a shock wave that reached the ground.
Radar data suggests that small meteorites may have survived and landed in the area. βοΈ
And one important detail: this fireball was NOT part of the Perseid meteor shower.

The universe is putting on a spectacular show in red, white, and blue.
From the explosive remains of a dead star to enormous star-forming regions, swirling galaxies, and mysterious dark matter, NASAβs space telescopes reveal a cosmos far more incredible than we can imagine.
β¨ Cassiopeia A β the glowing remains of a massive star that exploded thousands of years ago.
β NGC 3603 β home to one of the most massive young star clusters in our Milky Way.
π Messier 94 β a beautiful spiral galaxy about 30,000 light-years across.
π Galaxy Cluster β revealing a ghostly ring of dark matter around its center.
Different telescopes see different kinds of light, and when their observations are combined, we get a deeper look at the universe.
π The cosmos is full of fireworks we just need the right eyes to see them.

π The Perseids are coming!
One of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year peaks tonight,
August 12β13, 2026 and this year could be extra special. π
A new Moon means darker skies, giving you a better chance of spotting those bright Perseid meteors streaking across the night sky.

π·οΈ NASAβs telescopes reveal the Tarantula Nebula like never before!
Located about 160,000 light-years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud, the Tarantula Nebula is a massive stellar nursery filled with thousands of young stars. β¨
This stunning view combines three perspectives:
π΅ Chandra β X-ray light
π‘ Hubble β Optical light
π΄ Webb β Infrared light
Together, they reveal layers of hot gas, glowing clouds, dust, and newborn stars hidden across this incredible cosmic landscape.
