Positioning you to master your skills and unleash your potential

Today, I'm back at Childcare Centre, "AGAIN!" 🤝🏾

ATC is one of my favourite places to be!

The last time I led a workshop there, we worked on building Emotional Intelligence in educators, where I taught remarkable RECEs and ECAs how to PAUSE™ with Purpose.

💡 Today's focus: "Building Your Hundred Languages: Strengthening Capacity for Creative, Reggio-Inspired Practice."

Here's what their supervisor, said after our last session:

💭 "We've had such a great workshop experience with Jamelia. The support, guidance, and positive energy she brings to every session make such a difference. You can really tell how passionate she is about helping educators grow and feel confident in their work. Every workshop is engaging, thoughtful, and leaves us inspired to bring new ideas into our classrooms. We're already looking forward to the next one!"

What I love about this work is watching teams shift from "we know what to do but we can't seem to do it consistently" to "we have the capacity to actually live our values when pressure hits."

That's what happens when you stop treating professional development as content delivery and start building it as capacity infrastructure.

📌 If your team started January with good intentions, but the momentum already fizzled by January 31st, that's not a motivation problem.

That's a capacity problem, and that's where I come in.

🗓️ February is already fully booked.

If you’re ready for your educators to be prepared and positioned for Q2 (not just inspired by good intentions), let's talk.

Last week, I had the honour of sitting on a leadership panel alongside fellow educational experts—each of us committed to sharing insight and authenticity with 's next generation of Registered Early Childhood Educators.

When their professor, my colleague and mentor, Terry Kelly, invited me to participate in the panel again, my response was an immediate yes. Sharing my experiences, growth, and challenges with future RECEs is always humbling.

I wear many hats: post-secondary ECE faculty, RECE, and neuroinclusive learning specialist. At the intersection of these roles lies one of the most meaningful responsibilities I hold—mentor in the field. One

As the students thanked us and reflected on what inspired them, an invisible but unmistakably loud truth echoed in the room:

They didn’t yet realize that they were the inspiration.

They hadn’t yet recognized the power of their voice or their impact—not just on us, but on each other and the profession.

The questions they asked.
The perceptions they shared.
The atmosphere they created—transforming a blank four-walled room into one full of colour, collaboration, and community.

It was them. They were the magic.
And that realization sent me into a spiral of wonder:

⏸️ What if we empowered ECE students to see themselves before they saw the child?
⏸️ What if we encouraged them to seek lateral mentorship, not just senior advice?
⏸️ What if we gave them more consistent opportunities to build employability skills beyond field placement?
⏸️ What if we invited them to PAUSE™ and reflect on what they're truly positioning themselves for?
⏸️ What if we helped them shift their mindset—from job to responsibility?

We often say we view the child as capable and full of potential.
Do we view our students through that same lens?
And if not, are they truly ready to learn, connect, and recognize that same potential in the children they will one day guide?

Last week, I sat on a panel of experts.
But the truth is, last week I was more student than teacher last week.

And I loved every second of it.

To tomorrow's ECEs and today's leaders, I say thank you.

Silence speaks volumes🔈🔉🔊

Understanding your child's silence is the first step to helping them. It's not always easy for them to express their feelings, but with patience and the right support, you can create a safe space for them to open up. Start the conversation today. 💬

I don't want to live like this either.

It's not that I'm comfortable with a cluttered room. It's that I'm too mentally exhausted at the reality of my cluttered room that it makes me feel too intimidated to clean it, and the mental exhaustion manifests as physical exhaustion, and now I'm equally overwhelmed, disappointed and ashamed.

Let me know if you can relate to this ⬇️💬

When I'm laying in bed not doing "the thing," I am actively thinking about not doing "the thing" and actively wanting to do "the thing."

I'm not lazy. I'm stuck.

I'm stuck in the Analysis phase, and I haven't figured out how to climb out of it to enter the Action phase... but I want to.

Does anyone else feel like this? 🙋🏾‍♀️
