Last week, Jenny Tryansky, Professional Certified Coach (PCC), CPCC and I hosted “Designing Your Next Chapter” and one thing stood out:

Most people weren’t as “stuck” as they thought.
They just hadn’t paused long enough to see their own progress. There are often clues to one’s own progress and what else one might try.

We heard:
“I thought I wasn’t setting boundaries… but I actually do act on them.”
“I’m more ready for tough conversations than I realized.”
“I can picture the life I want… I’m just not sure I can create it.”

Some clear patterns emerged:
Overwhelm → wanting peace of mind
Feeling lost → wanting more connection to self
Uncertainty → wanting clarity
Feeling stuck → wanting direction and identity

And underneath it all: the tension between career ambition and the life (and parent) they want to be.

Two big takeaways:
1. Often your self-awareness is already there
2. Questioning assumptions changes everything. If you challenge your thinking to ponder “Do I know this to be true?” what happens?
3. What if we look at steps to change as puzzle pieces without having to know the answers or see the “big picture,” but know you’re moving forward in the right direction?

Also—this felt true for so many:
You can fear change and fear staying the same at the exact same time.

We reflected on the teachings of Stanford professors Bill Burnett and Dave Evans from the Designing Your Life course, and in this podcast interview Mel Robbins, they dig into steps to “design your life” more intentionally. We highly recommend having a listen. Link in bio

More to come in the coming months. Stay tuned.

Yesterday Rachel Finkelstein and I hosted Designing Your Next Chapter at —and I’ve been sitting with how powerful it is when people are given space to pause.

Space to name what’s working.
Space to be honest about what isn’t.
Space to reflect on career, motherhood, identity—and how all of it intersects in real life.

What stood out most wasn’t any single insight, but the willingness of this group to slow down, speak candidly, and consider what they want more of (and less of) in this next chapter.

Grateful to everyone who showed up with openness, curiosity, and care—and to Afterglow Yoga Studio for holding such a beautiful container for this work.

If you’ve been feeling the quiet nudge that something needs to shift, this kind of reflective pause can be a powerful place to start.

More to come.

Therapy helps you understand why.
Coaching helps you decide what next — and how to follow through.

I often work with leaders and professionals who’ve done meaningful personal work and still feel stuck.
They have insight.
They can name the patterns.
They know something needs to change.

But they’re asking:
How do I lead differently in real time?
How do I make clearer decisions?
How do I turn insight into consistent action?

That’s often where coaching plays a different role.

Therapy supports mental health, emotional regulation, and healing.
Coaching is forward-looking and practical — focused on decisions, ex*****on, boundaries, and sustainable performance.
Coaching doesn’t replace therapy.

It complements it, when you’re ready to move from insight to action.

What is it you need right now in your life and work?

Returning to work after maternity leave can shake your confidence — but it doesn’t mean you’ve lost it.

It means you’re in transition.

That’s why we created Momentum: a 6-week program blending group support, therapy, and coaching to help ambitious moms rebuild confidence, set boundaries, and thrive at work and at home.

Our November cohort is enrolling now.

At a client’s recommendation, I’ve been reading “The Good Enough Job” by Simone Stolzoff. One of its key messages really resonates with me: sometimes “good enough” is exactly what we need.

The parable of the fisherman and the tourist captures this perfectly — the fisherman chooses a slower, simpler life that brings him joy, while the tourist urges him to “do more” only to eventually end up right back where he started.
I see this tension every day in my coaching conversations. Many professionals are caught between striving for “more” and wondering if a simpler, more aligned career or lifestyle might actually make them happier.

💡 Here’s the question I’d love for you to reflect on:
Is the path you’re on leading you toward the life you want — or keeping you on a treadmill of “more” that doesn’t actually bring fulfillment?

❓ If you’ve been questioning your career direction, your work-life balance, or what “enough” looks like for you, let’s talk. I offer coaching to help you find clarity, realign your goals, and create a career that fits the life you actually want.

📩 Send me a message or book a discovery call through my website dianabyers.com — I’d love to explore what “enough” could mean for you.

As your coach, through my training I have come to see my clients as creative, resourceful and whole. What that means is you are the expert on you, and my job as your coach is to trust this and be the motor to your engine to help you get to where you want to be. It can be messy and challenging but ultimately I’ve seen people move mountains through coaching.

Absolutely love this image of how to measure success. I am so grateful to have a job where the (second) pie is completely full of all the wonderful things listed there. Took me a long time to get here; a lot of soul searching, “kissing” a lot of frogs, so to speak, but I cannot tell you how happy I am in a role where I feel fulfilled and enjoy every aspect about my team and role, oh and my incredible students!

Sometimes you have to try different roles (the aforementioned frogs) along the way to get to your dream job. And the skills and knowledge you gain through those experiences is also invaluable and will make you better.

Keep on your path to your own success. You’ll get there.

A simple reminder (mostly to future me) that winter doesn’t always suck. There’s beauty in every season and in life’s greatest lessons too

Clarity.

Sometimes we put pressure to make a change before giving real thought to what we want and need as part of that change.

Doing some real, deep self-exploration into what you already have in your toolbox and what could be next is such important work.

It’s said that many spend more time researching consumer products like phones, exercise products and winter jackets than doing their homework on future career options and companies where you might succeed at those places.

I will be taking on a select few new clients in the new year for people looking for a fresh start in their careers. Even in times of this pandemic, change can be available to those who hustle and put themselves in the drivers seat.

Email me to set up a free 30-minute consult if you need a change and to see if we can be a good fit together. [email protected]
