✨ Messy. creative. child-led. full of bubbles and belly laughs. 🫧💭
We left for the May long weekend with joy filled hearts that this year was a success! The K-2's had a fun "Bubble Day" of afternoon fun.
They could make their own bubble wands with pipe cleaners and beads, we attempted bubble painting (I never get that to work!), an animal and car wash station, painting, large bubble making with hula hoops and extra large bubble wands made from pool noodles, a tuff tray filled with bubbles and all the old odd and end wands we could find and the biggest hit - our mud kitchen transformed into a potion making station with flowers from !
And there always has to be an area for soccer!
Thanks to staff, we had auto bubble machines to add to the magic of our play day!
🛟this for some end of year magic! For ~100 students it cost us $60 for bubbles, sponges, pipe cleaners, beads, big paper, pool noodles, and bowls. Paint, 5 tuff trays, bubble wands, hula hoops, cars, animals, and paint we already had.
A huge thank you to for the donation of floral to add new play to our mud kitchen!

I am in love with these window stickers we made!
A little more labouring for me at the end but listening to them show them off to their peers on the yard is magical! I love those little conversations ❤️

Wow! The last two weeks of May have been flying by at lighting speed!
These posts prove the learning goes up and documentation goes down... well picture documentation.
It's middle of May - we are all keeping it together. 👇so steel this idea for those "falling apart days"
You can "track" worms by the thin pathway they cut in the dirt. Get students to slow down and notice. If you find these little holes, they are also a good sign where a worm has renters the ground and maybe a way to track them.
They were challenged to find the "shortest" and "longest" pathway of a worm we could see. They were challenged to determine how we were going measure for the contest - and that won't take long at all to solve.
^these are gold mine report card comments and a gold mine of an activity for those days!
🔽comment 🪱 or worm below for my entire work package so that you can make the learning"more academic "

These mixed media works of art are 😍
They used textures in our classroom to create a crayon rubbing background. Then invented their own green for stems. Finished off with painting watercolour on white paper towels, cotton swabs, or coffee filters.
Easy, open-ended spring inspired art!
