Playing hockey all over North America definitely helped me in more ways than one. I learned a lot, like building relationships and how to over come people saying no to me.
At first I would get frustrated and want to give up, but then I just became more and more determined to prove people wrong and to "find a way". It helped me build a strong mindset and the willingness to win.
Moving around for hockey allowed me to build relationships with a ton of different individuals, most of them I still keep in contact with today. But it showed me the power of knowing people and connections. It truly is all about who you know and what you learn from each of those individuals. Networking is a key to any part of life.
Fast forward to today, it has helped me so much when it comes to real estate because your network is your net worth. If you are able to build relationships and learn from each individual you come across then you are going to grow so much faster. I have had a number of different mentors and each one has been able to teach me and bring me different success's. This statement couldn't be more true. Networking and building relationships is the key to success in any business.
Transitioning the mental toughness I built from hockey has allowed me to move so much faster in real estate then I could've ever imagined. You will get told its impossible a thousand times, and you will get told its high risk and not worth it. Being able to stick to your path and stick to your goals will allow you to grow and scale faster than you ever thought possible.
Real Estate is my new passion and I've taken everything I have learned from the game of hockey and turned it into success in real estate.
