We are so thrilled! Our film A Tale of Two Qallunaat is a one hour documentary about two intrepid women artists who travelled to the Arctic in the early 1970s and left a lasting legacy of their art and love of the north!

Our film A Tale of Two Qallunaat will be screening at 8:15 pm -Friday March 6th at the Spotlight on Academics film festival at the Thunder Bay Museum it will be followed by a Q&A by the director! Admission is $10 :)

🎥Synopsis: In 1918, Elizabeth (Beth) Smellie from Port Arthur, Ontario (now Thunder Bay) had just returned from the battlefields of Europe to face the worst Influenza pandemic in history. Her experiences transformed her. This hour long docu-drama will trace Beth Smellie’s vocation as a public health nurse. We will use dramatizations, archival footage, photographs, and sound design to tell the moving story of Canada’s Florence Nightingale.
