Today I had the opportunity to facilitate another summer crafting session at Animki. Together, we created personalized holistic self-care mirrors, each reflecting what wellness means to us.

As we crafted, we explored the teachings of the Medicine Wheel and discussed the importance of finding balance in our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. It was meaningful to see everyone’s unique reflections and hear the different ways they care for themselves.

Thank you to everyone who joined and shared in today’s conversation and creativity. 💛

Today I had the opportunity to facilitate a summer crafting workshop at Animki Enagb. Throughout the session, we shared our summer plans, reflected on our goals for the season, and spent time connecting through creativity and conversation.

The youth created “Frame Your Strength”—a DIY picture frame featuring a personal affirmation that reflects who they are and the strengths they carry. It was inspiring to see each participant express themselves in a unique way while creating something meaningful to take home.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make today’s workshop such a positive and uplifting experience. 💛☀️🎨

Today I had the opportunity to facilitate a creative journaling workshop alongside Kat from the Oshkaatisak Council.

Although the workshop was originally scheduled to take place at the Nishnawbe Aski Nation office, we adapted our plans when there were no attendees. We relocated to a hotel where evacuees from a Northern First Nation community are currently staying, ensuring the opportunity to connect with youth was not lost.

We were grateful to welcome nine youth who joined us for an afternoon of creativity, self-expression, and reflection. It was inspiring to see them share their stories, explore their creativity, and create space for connection during what is undoubtedly a challenging time.

Moments like these are a reminder that meaningful engagement often happens when we are willing to meet communities where they are. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the workshop such a positive experience.

I’m excited to share that next week I will be facilitating craft workshops at Animki ENAGB ! 😊

Throughout our time together, youth will engage in meaningful discussions about mental health, self-care, resilience, self-love, and reflecting on our goals and dreams for the future.

Through creativity and connection, we will create a safe and supportive space to share, learn, and celebrate our journeys together. I’m looking forward to spending this time with everyone and seeing the beautiful creations that emerge! ❤️✨
