Well that was fun! Thanks Collingwood Public Library for hosting me.

The group got to learn how to use the jaw harp! I showcased my drum too, and also taught group throat singing.

The sound heard of the second floor was very musical and full of laughter 😃

The work so far - thank you Inuit Art Foundation for funding the kamiik project - Threads of our Ancestors.

You can learn more about it here: urbaninuitidentityproject.ca/kamiik/

If you are Inuk, and would like a pattern, follow the link above!

I will also be hosting an exhibit with the AGO in Toronto on Nov. 7th to showcase them and the work as well as to give out the patterns. All are welcome at this event.

It will also showcase throat singing and drum dancing by myself, Alexandra Anaviapik and Naulaq Ledrew.

This is for all the muttaq lovers out there! Plus anyone who's tried it before and enjoyed it.

Muttaq is whale blubber, it is eaten raw and prepared partly thawed. You can cook it if you want to. It is loaded with vitamin C!

What colour tee should the design be on?

These Inuit learning resources are made for:

Fun ways to help people w/ Inuktitut & Inuit knowledge!

👉The Arctic Tundra Land and Sea Inuktitut cards introduces Arctic plants, animals, and environment in Inuktitut. 🦌🐺🪺

👉Five Seasons of Nunavut Snakes and Ladders brings learning to life through play 🌞🌨🌬.

These are classroom-ready teaching aids designed to make learning engaging and fun, for students, families, and anyone curious about Inuit culture. And Inuit culture.

These are the kinds of resources I wish I had when I was growing up, and I'm proud to finally share them for others.

They are available online urbaninuitidentityproject.ca/shop/

Inuit supporting Inuit is a beautiful message. Thank you Angela Aula for helping to bring awareness. (Inuk.beauty).

In 2022, I opened Urban Inuit Identity Project and at the same time, I was hosting a grassroots group: Georgian Bay Indigenous Circle (formerly Collingwood Indigenous Circl).

I had learned that non Indigenous peoples were doing the good work at Indigenous people could do. It started my fire. I thought we could lead our own programs. We could write our own grants and run our own groups.

Since then, Urban Inuit Identity Project has been leading Inuit specific projects, hiring Indigenous artists, working with Inuit influences to share messages.

I am not down playing allyship. Without allies, UIIP wouldn't exist. However, I want to show that Indigenous people can lead too.

Thank you to everyone who supports UIIP.

These shirts were designed by myself (Muckpaloo). They support the efforts that go on at the organization.
