It seems so strange to see a talking head in an ad or documentary now with the person looking off slightly to one side, usually as if they are talking to someone off camera in a conversation. This was the norm for so many years, and was usually my camera 2 shot. Now the subject tells the story to the audience directly, and looks directly into the camera... that used to be considered so intense and unorthodox. I remember using a glance up to the camera as a closing show and it really rocked. Now everyone is doing it... time just keeps on ticking and things just keep on changing, and we love change!

Our work pops up in the most interesting places, from national meetings in Winnipeg to classrooms in southern Chile, We were in Membertou a few months ago on a video shoot and happened to hear another of our productions being screened in a provincial meeting next door. Yet, many people don't bother to subscribe, and they really don't have to. Still, this is exciting!

We happened to be up Membertou the other day and saw that this video was being shown in the convention centre big room. We am so happy to be able to contribute to this sort of story through the production of communication tools like this, and we have to admit we were a little proud. Video produced through the Mi'kmaq Rights Initiative and the great Kateri Stevens.
