This weekend our incredible volunteers came together to pack weekend food packs for students through the Starfish Pack program — helping ensure kids in our community have nutritious meals when school isn’t in session. 🍊🍌🍎🥖 Each backpack filled represents care, kindness, and the power of community to make a meaningful difference. 

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and packed with heart 💛 And to The Salvation Army Surrey Ministries for allowing us to use their space — we couldn’t do this without you all! 🌟

Grateful beyond words for the incredible support we received today! ❤️

A huge thank you to our city mayor- Mayor Brenda Locke for taking the time to join us in service of our community. Your leadership and hands-on dedication truly set the tone for an inspiring day.

We also want to express our deepest appreciation to the members of the Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society. Your generosity, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to helping others brought so much energy and heart to our food-packing event. Seeing firefighters who already give so much of themselves show up again to support local kids is nothing short of amazing.

Thank you as well to The Salvation Army Surrey Ministries for always welcoming your door for us to do this work, and to all our wonderful volunteers!

Because of all of you, we were able to pack hundreds of meals that will go directly to children who need them most. Today was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when community leaders, local heroes, and volunteers come together with one goal: making a difference.

The Starfish Backpack Program is a weekend Food literacy and availability program created in response to teachers who saw that too many children were coming to class hungry. Many students across the province rely on School breakfast and lunch programs to fill their tummies on School days but when it comes to the weekend, they don’t have the food they need.Starfish Pack was designed to help change that.

Starfish provides packs of 2 breakfasts,
2 lunches, 2 dinners with snacks and fresh fruit to hungry students each weekend of the school year.
