Practice Care, is tailored for newcomers and visible minorities (VM) survivors of domestic violence, providing individualized, tailored supports; language skills and counselling support.

The program will help participants acquire “Responsible Adult” certification needed for a career in childcare roles.

Participants will develop transferable early childhood education (ECE) skills in a simulated work environment for self-employment, employment and connection to further education and training in ECE.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

· Training and 40+ hours of experience working with children in a practice daycare
· Coaching from Early Childhood Educators
· Food Safe and First Aid training
· English language training and support
· Access to counselling support and life skills workshops
· Connections to further training in Early Childhood Education (ECE)

ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS:

· Permanent residents or Canadian citizens
· Protected Person status
· Survivors of Domestic violence
· Women with or without children
