Our Grade 4 students have been learning about the Two Row Wampum Belt and the importance of understanding the relationships between Indigenous peoples and Europeans in the creation of Canada. We explored how the two rows represent two peoples travelling side by side, each following their own path while respecting one another’s ways of life.

To help remember what we learned, students created their own Two Row Wampum Belt representations as a hands-on reminder of the importance of peace, friendship, respect, and living side by side. 🧡🇨🇦
