Strathmore & District Playschool strathmoreplayschool.ca Strathmore & District Playschool offers a carefully planned program of learning experiences for children three and four years old.

In a learning-through-play environment, children are offered both structured and unstructured activities that contribute to their physical, social and intellectual development. The children will participate in creative crafts, play centers, storytime and snacktime, as well as music and games. Our playschool is a non-profit, parent-assisted organization.
• Promoting self-worth & adequacy.
• Socializing with children in a group situation.
• Learning through play.
• Functioning independently away from the family.
• Developing listening and language skills.

Mrs Lehmann started our Playschool almost 50 years ago.
She taught hundreds of children and we wouldn’t be here without her. Happy return to Denmark!

On a personal note: It's fine and good to imagine what life would be like somewhere else. It takes some courage to leave and go somewhere new. To head out to the great unknown.

How many hundreds of our children has Clara taught to persevere, to be kind, and to trust each other? Taught each 3 and 4 year old kid to not complain, but to contribute? All lessons most have carried into adulthood. Our community is so much better from her contributions to Strathmore and District Playschool, One Step Housing, Western District Historical Society, and community churches.

Clara, you are like family to many of us, and we will miss you and Jens dearly. Thank you for your friendship and the role you have played in our lives. You have touched mine in a million wonderful ways. ❤️ Happy Homecoming to Denmark.

And that's a wrap! May was full of fun activities. Our 4 year old classes went to visit their future Kindergarten class, we had visitors in our 3 year old classes, (see previous post), we learned about the ocean and the beach, space, butterflies, prepared for the end of the year and graduation. We would like to wish all our 4 year old the best of luck in Kindergarten! We cannot wait to see our 3 year old go to the 4 year old classes in September and meet all our new friends!

Our 3 year old classes were super fortunate to get visitors every day this week, as part of our Community Helpers’ week. We want to thank fire fighters Doug, Joe, Cody and Wyatt from the Strathmore Fire Department, RCMP constables Villanueva and Grewal as well as bus driver Paul for volunteering their time to talk to our students. The kids loved it and learned a lot too! We are so lucky to live in such a great community!
