We are saddened to share the passing of Greg Duncan, Class of 1978.

Greg was a valued member of the Stanstead College community and the son of long-serving former faculty members Paul and Dorothy Duncan, who touched the lives of generations of Stanstead students.

We extend our sincere condolences to Greg's family, classmates, and all who knew him.

Congratulations to Gracie Gilkyson (Class of 2022) on being drafted by the Seattle Torrent in the PWHL.

Gracie was picked up in the 5th round and 50th overall in Wednesday’s 2026 draft.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Gracie attended Grade 12 as a PG year. She went on to play NCAA Division I women’s hockey for Yale University, where she developed into a key contributor on both ends of the ice. By 2025–26, she was producing at roughly a point-per-game pace (9 goals, 18 assists in 36 games) while also leading the team in blocked shots and earning ECAC honors such as Defender of the Month and All-Ivy recognition.

At Stanstead, Gracie was a Major S winner as a member of the varsity girls hockey team.

Gracie a été choisie au 5e tour, au 50e rang au total, lors du repêchage de 2026 tenu mercredi.

Originaire de Calgary, en Alberta, Gracie a fréquenté Stanstead College en 12e année dans le cadre d’une année préparatoire (PG).

Elle a ensuite poursuivi sa carrière au hockey féminin de première division de la NCAA à l’Université Yale, où elle est devenue une joueuse clé tant en attaque qu’en défense. En 2025-2026, elle maintenait une moyenne d’environ un point par match (9 buts et 18 passes en 36 rencontres), tout en menant son équipe au chapitre des tirs bloqués. Elle a également reçu plusieurs honneurs de l’ECAC, notamment ceux de défenseure du mois et de membre de l’équipe d’étoiles de l’Ivy League.

À Stanstead, Gracie a remporté son Major S en tant que membre de l’équipe féminine de hockey.

Stanstead College was host to this year’s Lieutenant Governor of Québec’s Regional Medal Ceremony. Over 50 individuals from across the Eastern Townships received medals in the senior and youth category, including Stanstead College student Abygail Dewey (Grade 11, Stanstead).

Abygail was recognized as “a compassionate and driven young leader whose work strengthens both her school and wider community. She conducts concussion recovery research, supports peer projects, and contributes to the Stanstead Youth Committee.”

Le Stanstead College a accueilli cette année la cérémonie régionale de remise des médailles du lieutenant-gouverneur du Québec. Plus de 50 personnes provenant de l’ensemble des Cantons-de-l’Est ont reçu une médaille dans les catégories jeunesse et aînés, dont l’élève du Stanstead College Abygail Dewey (11e année, Stanstead).

Abygail a été reconnue comme étant « une jeune leader compatissante et déterminée dont le travail renforce à la fois son école et sa communauté. Elle mène des recherches sur le rétablissement après une commotion cérébrale, soutient les projets de ses pairs et contribue au comité jeunesse de Stanstead. »
