Research around Equine Massage Therapy continues to develop.

Current studies suggest massage may influence stress indicators, relaxation behaviours, mobility, and sensitivity to pressure. But professional education matters because the work requires more than knowing where to place your hands.

Students need to understand anatomy.
They need to recognize normal and abnormal responses.
They need to work within scope.
They need to communicate professionally.
They need to know when to refer.

That is the difference between interest and practice.

One space has become available for our September intake.
This program is for the student who is ready to take Equine Massage Therapy seriously — not as a quick certification, but as a professional path.
Over 15 months, students develop their understanding of anatomy, practical skill, professional communication, weekly barn practicals, examinations, and the standards required to step into this work responsibly.
This is hands-on.
This is structured.
This requires commitment.
For the right student, this space may be the beginning of something much larger.
Based in London, Ontario.
Please message us directly to inquire.

Some students learn best by reading. Some learn best by watching.
And some only truly understand the work once their hands are on the horse, guided by an instructor, with time to ask questions and practise.

Equine Massage Therapy is a hands-on profession and the learning has to reflect that.

This program requires consistency—not convenience.

One of the most important parts of Equine Massage Therapy is learning how to observe.
Before hands-on work begins, a trained practitioner is already gathering information.

How does the horse stand?
How does the horse respond to touch?
Where does the horse brace?
What changes when the horse relaxes?
What should be referred to another professional?

Massage is not guessing.

It requires anatomy, palpation, professional judgment, and a clear understanding of scope.

Horses in work are constantly adapting.

Training, travel, competition, growth, age, footing, saddle fit, recovery time, and daily management all influence how a horse feels in their body.

Equine Massage Therapy is not about making dramatic claims. It is about understanding anatomy, recognizing tension, supporting comfort, and knowing when another professional should be involved.

For the equine athlete, the details matter: relaxation, mobility, recovery, and careful observation.

That is why education matters.
