Last Day for Apple Day 2026!

My Cub Scout and I will be out in the Gould's Community around Lunch time before Chipmunks and Cubs meetings today.

Drop by and say hello to our Chipmunks, Beavers, Cubs,Scouts,Venturer, Scouters and Parent/Guardians all supporting the 1st Goulds Scout group.

I'm excited to be able to attend this again this year!

Even more excited and glad that I made the call earlier this week to switch to virtual and they could accommodate the switch.

It's important for Educators to see the value in continued education opportunities. To see how others offer development appropriate approachs differently. I look forward to trying some of what I have learned today in daily practice.
It's a lunch break now and then an afternoon full of more speakers and presentations.

Now to continue working on rest or projects!

It's October! Halloween. When you live with food allergies and sensitivities, this time of year can be truly SCARY.

It does not have to be! Recognizing Teal Pumpkins or having non food choices or allergy free choices can be a moment of excitement for small children.

Wondering if Scouts might be a good fit for your child? Come join 1st Goulds Scouts for our Open House on Sunday, September 27th!

This is a chance for kids to jump right in, meet our Scouters, make some new friends and experience a real Scout meeting — no commitment required! 💚

👉 Parents/guardians of youth trying Scouts are required to stay for the duration of the Open House meeting.

I started making felt crowns for the Dayhome Littles a few years ago. Traditions have power.

It's not something you think about. Starting traditions that will last a childhood. However, it's still important.

Last year, I did not make a crown for my oldest child. I was informed, last minute this year, that it was upsetting for them.

So in the back to school rush. I cut, sewed, felted. I like to have more time than a few days to complete each one I make. Time to reflect and give myself breaks as it can be an emotional process. Especially for the ones I know for a longer length of time.

I am glad to have finished it.

I am not sure what this year will bring our household or the program.

It's been a wild Summer Break.

Summers like this one make me wonder if I should operate on the NL Schools schedule.

I remind myself, my youngest will only be little for a few more years, then they will be in Jr. High and High School. Eventually Post Secondary.

Being a Parent or Guardian during Back to School, is not for the faint of heart. It's a yearly reminder of how little time we have with our children while they are young.

When I made my post about lunches, I knew this post would be after.

Can you tell if this is peanut butter or not?

This is a topic that is important for me and my family.

My program is Tree nut, Peanut and Legume free.
It has to and always will be.

My home is.

There is a valid reason why Schools in our area ban sending in nut butter alternatives.

It looks too similar.

The scariest time I have ever administered an EpiPen was a reaction at school. Pulling into the school parking lot to a child in active anaphylaxis is something you never forget.

I fully understand there are alternatives out there like Sunbutter and Wow. It's just not a risk the School, especially Elementary level, should have to take on.

Please, be mindful of this as we get ready to start a new school year. Please read the memos that are sent out. The allergy list can change at anytime in the year. Help keep our Learners safe. 5 meals out of 21. 10 snacks out of the week.
