Some people say homeless Canadians don’t deserve support because they are citizens and “messed their lives up.”

But who are we to decide who is worthy of compassion?

Homelessness doesn’t have one story. Behind every person is a human being with experiences, pain, hopes, and dreams that most of us will never fully understand.

Judging someone because of their citizenship, background, or circumstances only deepens the barriers they already face. Compassion should never depend on where someone was born or how they arrived at their lowest point.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to be heard. Everyone deserves dignity. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Let’s stop asking, “What did they do wrong?” and start asking, “How can we help?”

We believe every voice matters and every person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.

Be kind. Listen first. Judge less. Support more. ❤️

Help FUTU Bring Kindness to People in Need

On August 2, 2026, the team and CEO spent the day connecting with remarkable individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. They welcomed us into their world and courageously shared their personal stories, struggles, hopes and dreams.

Behind every person we met was a human being who wanted to be heard, respected and given another opportunity. Their honesty deeply touched us and reminded us that homelessness does not define a person’s worth, abilities or future.

Unfortunately, because our funds were limited, we were able to provide immediate assistance to only one person. Although we were grateful to help that individual, it was heartbreaking to leave knowing that many others also needed support. We deeply wished that we had the resources to assist more people.

This experience strengthened our commitment to the FUTU Acts of Kindness Initiative. We want to continue meeting people where they are, listening and providing practical support during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Funds raised will help provide emergency support for struggling individuals and families

No contribution is too small. A few dollars from many compassionate people can become groceries, essential supplies or emergency assistance for someone who feels forgotten and alone.

We will regularly share updates on our social media platforms so donors can see the impact of their contributions and how the funds are being used. However, we will always protect the dignity and privacy of the people we support. No one will be required to participate in an interview, photograph or video to receive assistance. We will only share a person’s identity, image or story with their clear and informed consent.

Please donate and share this fundraiser with your family, friends and community. Your kindness could help us reach the next person we could not afford to support yesterday. Together, we can remind more people that they are seen, valued and not alone.
