Just for laughs 🤣

We had so much fun this morning exploring shapes!

We learned a new song all about the square.
Ask your kiddo if they remember it!

Then, we went on a shape hunt around the classroom, searching for the shapes Miss Krissy hid around us. 🔺🟡🟦

Learning through play, song, and exploration!

Risky play blog.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Heart's Home Daycare. As early childhood educators, we take time to carefully check our spaces, remove hazards, and ensure every corner is ready for play and discovery. Our large outdoor environment in Springbrook is thoughtfully designed to support both safety and exploration, so your child can thrive in a secure, nurturing setting. Visit heartshomedaycare.ca to learn more about our holistic approach.

Building Confidence & Responsibility in Our 3/4 Room
We believe that children build confidence when we give them opportunities to do things for themselves.
Our open centres are designed to give children choices while also helping them learn that with choice comes responsibility.

Our Playdough Centre
Children can choose a mat, get their own playdough, and select whichever tools they would like to use. They are encouraged to explore, create, and use their imagination.
When they are finished, they have another important job: putting everything back where it belongs. The playdough goes away, the tools are returned, the mat is put away, and then they wash their hands.

Our Art Centre
Our art station offers a variety of materials for children to explore. Before beginning, we show them how to gather the materials they need and how to use them safely and appropriately.
If they choose paint, they learn how to squeeze the paint bottles into the tray, use the materials, and then clean up their workspace when they are finished.
These may seem like small routines, but they are BIG learning opportunities.

When we allow children to make choices, try things independently, clean up their own materials, and take responsibility for their classroom, we are helping them build skills that extend far beyond the class room.

Look at all these moments of children playing, exploring, and having fun!

What do they all have in common?

The children are learning!

But shhhh… don’t tell them! 🤫
They think they’re just playing. 😉
