Telkwa Elementary School

Telkwa Elementary School Telkwa Elementary School is located in Telkwa BC and houses approximately 125 students It houses approximately 125 students from kindergarten to grade seven.

Telkwa Elementary School is one of the oldest schools in the Bulkley Valley School District. It is staffed by educators that are passionate about doing what is right for students and developing life long learners. All staff play an integral role in encouraging our students to use self regulation strategies to help all student's learn to their maximum potential . Right from the custodian and her 'Janitor's club' to the school's Homework Club, we are committed to offering the best educational experience possible! Our school has a rural feel to it and most students are bussed in from the surrounding area. It is nestled against a hillside that provides hours of fun both in the summer and in the winter. We are lucky to have an amazing PAC that has recently provided funding for a brand new playground and is now working on helping us to design and build an outdoor classroom. We are currently focused on developing garden boxes and a green house which should be up and running this spring (2014). Teachers are supporting students in a environmental challenge that has them examining how we look after the world around us. Our Fine Arts teacher, recently and VERY successfully orchestrated a full musical production that was presented at the Della Herman Theatre. All students were involved and did a stellar job performing!
