Effective September 2026, grading and mark breakdowns in secondary school will experience some significant changes.

Attendance and participation will now count for 15% of students' final grades in Grades 9/10, and 10% in Grades 11/12.

In-person final exams will also be mandatory for most classes during scheduled exam days.

See the graphic below for more information. Please ensure you continually communicate with your child's school and administration about absences and check your child's Student Handbook and course outlines for more information about grade breakdowns.

Our Grade 8 students are back from their graduation trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls. They toured Toronto, went up the CN tower, visited Canadas Wonderland, saw &Juliet the musical, experienced the Canadian Falls from a boat, did lots of shopping, and so much more. Our students were great ambassadors for Lac Seul on the trip, and were all so fun to travel with.

Sioux North students and families, tomorrow is the last day of classes before exams begin on Friday!
For all four exam days, pick up times will be regular pick up times. On Friday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the bus will pick up the students at 2:00. This will allow time for students to work on final assignments if they need it.
On Monday, June 22, the bus will pick up all students at 11:30 so they are able to enjoy some of the stat holiday with their families.
