Hi amazing parents!

As we come to the end of February (Black History Month), I want to share a few excerpts from two well-received speeches I gave in honour of this important month. One message stood out strongly: we must move away from just commemoration to transformation — and transformation means intentionally building Black futures.

For me, that transformation is reflected in the work we’re doing at STEMSASKB. Through our coding clubs, math programs, science activities, and hands-on learning, we’re supporting Black families, meeting parents where they are, and creating safe, joyful spaces where our kids can explore and thrive.

We are helping our children see themselves early as scientists, engineers, programmers, and innovators — not someday, but now. Thank you for being part of this journey as we build confident, capable Black futures together 💫

February is Black History Month - Canada.ca Every February, Canadians are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities and events that honour the legacy of Black Canadians, past and present. Canadians learn about the experience of Black Canadians and their vital role in the community.

Every week youths and kids are busy coding, learning new STEM concepts and brainstorming ideas! They remain engaged throughout the week with their homework, projects and self directed IXL learning.
