One of our amazing customers, Danielle Lynn from Vancouver, had this to say about our pre-recorded workshop Medicine in the Garden:
"I recently watched Forest Heart Botanicals's workshop and absolutely loved it. Larkin is so clear in how he challenges us as settlers to consider the impact of colonization on our access to land, why solely foraging for medicinals can be problematic and how growing and tending medicines can be part of working towards right relationship. And the way Larkin talks about each plant with such affection and passion is so engaging and enjoyable to watch. Itโs obvious he has a strong sense of the plantsโ needs and uses gained through real dedication and experience. Larkinโs connection to each of the plants really came through and he modelled that working with plant medicines is just that - a reciprocal relationship.
I think that Medicine in the Garden would be helpful for beginners, people who have a strong foundation of herbal knowledge and are actively working with plants, and everyone in between. I knew most of the plants quite well, but Larkin gave me new information on and a new appreciation of each of them. It reenergized my desire to grow medicinals and my political commitment to doing that thoughtfully and intentionally. Medicine in the Garden reawakened the plant medicine spark for me - I actually watched the workshop twice in one afternoon and then went to my community garden plot and did a bunch of work because I felt so inspired!"
