This has been a long time coming!
We have put together a small group of horses that will be available for half and full leases at our facility in Silver Creek, Salmon Arm, BC

This is a great option for riders who want more consistent time with one horse without the full commitment and expense of owning.

We currently have five horses available:

A gelding available for English or Western flatwork
19 years old, 16.2hh, with a dressage background best suited for an intermediate rider

A mare available primarily for trail riding
16 years old, 14.3hh, loves to go out on her own or in a group to explore the outdoors, best suited for an advanced beginner or higher

An experienced all-around mare who can be ridden English or Western, has all the buttons, jumps and is great on the trails
12 year old, 14.2hh, best suited for an intermediate

A mare available for English flatwork and jumping
9 year old, 16hh, best suited for an intermediate

A gelding available for lead line or light riding for a child
Safe, sane and a great starter horse

Half Lease $650 + GST per month

• One lesson per week
• Two independent rides per week
• Use of the horse’s regular tack
• Access to our indoor and outdoor arenas
• Trail access for horses that are suitable for trail riding

Full Lease $1,100 + GST per month

• One lesson per week
• Up to five independent rides per week
• Use of the horse’s regular tack
• Access to our indoor and outdoor arenas
• Trail access for horses that are suitable for trail riding

Additional lessons are available to leasers and can be booked separately at our regular lesson rate.

Riders must be capable of catching, grooming, tacking up and riding independently. Horses will be carefully matched to riders based on experience, goals and riding ability. Jumping and trail access will depend on the individual horse and rider.

These are on property leases only at our facility
Horse care, feed, routine farrier and regular veterinary expenses are included.

"Deeks"
13 year old, 15.2hh, Registered QH gelding
Super stocky and strong built horse with a nice way of moving

Goes walk, trot, lope under saddle. Turns of the forehand, on the hunches, side passes, leg yields, rolls back and has a good stop. Nice forward ride with crisp transitions

Ideal for someone looking for a horse to do arena work with. He is quite athletic for his build and could go a variety of directions. While he does go out on the trails he is spooky.

"Char"
5 year old, 15hh, grade qh mare

Lovely mover with potential to be a show horse or enjoy the trails with you

Goes walk, trot, canter under saddle. She has lateral movements, a good stop, turn on the hunches and forehand. Has been on the trails alone and in a group and throughly enjoys being outside. Crosses water, roads, ditches, goes over logs. Has one clinic under her belt and she handled it like a star

Lovely in the barn, ties, loads, bathes, clips, stands to be groomed and saddled

"Penny"
9 year old, 14.1hh, grade Welsh x QH mare

Goes walk, trot, canter under saddle and has a handful of buttons such as the sidepass, turn on the forehand and haunches, and the leg yield. She can go western or English and has the movement to show in either. She is a fancy little lady.
Goes out on the trails, goes down the road, over logs and through ditches

She is an ideal step up pony or the partner for a smaller person still wanting something fancy to ride!
She is a forward ride and is not suitable for a beginner or nervous rider

"Denver"
10 year old, 17.3hh, Grade warmblood Gelding

Goes walk, trot, canter under saddle, leg yields, goes into the contact and has jumped some small fences under saddle

He has free jumped to 3' with ability to move up and 3 very nice gaits

He is an in your pocket type of horse and enjoys being with his human!

He is best suited for an intermediate rider or up as he can be opinionated if he has a day off and will struggle to go forward. His ideal world is constant riding and clear expectations

Cow Work Refresh & Step Up Clinic

Ready to put the skills from our Intro to Cow Work clinic to use?

We'll start with a refresh of the fundamentals before stepping things up and introducing penning and working cattle with a purpose.

We'll work on:
• Refreshing how to read and track a cow
• Positioning, pressure and release
• Controlling a cow's direction and speed
• Moving cattle toward a specific location
• Learning when to apply pressure and when to back off
• Working with other riders to move cattle
• Introducing the basics of penning

We always finish the day off with some mini competitions using a basic penning format

The goal is to take the skills you learned in the Intro clinic and start applying them to a practical job.

This is not a cutting, working cow horse or performance cow clinic. We're continuing to focus on practical ranch-style cattle handling, with an emphasis on quietly moving, controlling and penning livestock.

Prerequisite: Riders must have attended one of our Intro to Cow Work clinics.

Intro to Cow Work Clinic

Want to introduce your horse to cattle or learn the basics of working livestock?

This clinic is designed specifically for green horses, green riders and those that brand new to cattle. We'll slow things down and focus on understanding how cattle move and how your position as a rider influences them.

We'll work on:
• Reading a cow and understanding its body language
• Pressure and release around livestock
• Where to position your horse to influence a cow
• Tracking a cow at a walk and controlled trot
• Controlling direction without chasing
• Building confidence in both horse and rider
• Practical skills for quietly moving cattle

This is not a cutting, working cow horse or performance cow clinic. Our focus is on the practical side of cattle work and the skills you would use to quietly and effectively move livestock on a ranch.

No previous cow experience is required.

$250 + GST per rider
Lesson horse available for an additional $50
