Hidden Killer of Your Premium Coffee Machine ☠️

Many coffee lovers rarely use the hot water function on their espresso machine because they are told so🙂

That makes sense, cuz drawing hot water actually temporarily reduce steam pressure and affect your steaming performance.

But here’s the hidden problem: never using it at all may slowly damage your lovely machine.

Inside the steam boiler, water is constantly heated over and over again. Over time, minerals build up, creating scale deposits that reduce heating efficiency, slow recovery time, and increase wear on internal components.

Premium dual boiler machines can be even more vulnerable, because their larger steam boilers often hold the same water for long periods if the hot water wand is never used.

Simple fix?
Just occasionally run the hot water function to flush out older water and allow fresh water into the boiler.

A small habit that can help protect a big investment. ✨

Pressure matters – and not just in life, but in your espresso too!

Here’s a quick cheat sheet:

Low Pressure (6–8 bar)
Slower flow = less extraction = sour espresso. Not always bad tho—can be great for light roasts with fruity notes!

Standard Pressure (9 bar)
This is the espresso sweet spot! You’ll get that smooth, rich, balanced shot every coffee lover dreams of aka golden cup!

High Pressure (10–12 bar)
Fast flow, intense vibes. Might bring extra bitterness and heavy body, but works great when you want your espresso to punch through milk drinks.

Playing with pressure is like DJ-ing your espresso—change the setting, change the vibe!

Beginners question: Round tip or sharp tip?
Some of our students ask: “Do I need a sharp spout/ sharp spout to pour a certain kind of latte art pattern?”

The answer is actually no!
Whether you use a round or sharp tip, as long as your milk texture, thickness and pour control are on point, both shapes can create beautiful latte art. But here is the question, why do we need two different things for the same purpose?

Round tip:
Great for beginners! Offers steady milk flow—perfect for hearts and tulips. ❤️ & 🌷

Sharp tip:
Gives you more precision for detailed pours like rosettas and layered tulips.

At the end of the day, it’s not only about the pitcher—it’s about how you use it and your skills!

Which shape do you like more? Let me know in the comments!
