This summer’s art camp theme is:

NATURE and MAN MADE, side by side

We’ll explore this theme together in a multitude of projects and mediums, often using a selection of illustrated library books as a starting point, as well as with direct contact with our awesome natural world. On the friday, during the last hour of class, the kids will host an exhibition of their works to share with their family and friends, expect a hand made invitation.

2nd ANNUAL REVELSTOKE ART CAMP is coming!!!

Session 1: July 7 to 11
Session 2: July 14 to 18

9AM TO NOON: kids entering grades 4 to 6
1PM TO 4PM: kids entering kindergarten to grade 3

COST: $140 per week long session includes:
snack, recess and all art materials

LOCATION: In the huge basement of the Baptist Church, 1806 Colbeck Rd (Columbia Park, on the way to Martha cr)

Young artists bring their imaginations, clothes for getting messy in, and a smile.

ALISHA REILLY-ROE Original fine art oil paintings and sculptures by Canadian artist Alisha Reilly-Roe. Beautiful high realism landscapes, based on explorations in nature, the alpine, the forests, the water's edge, in all seasons.

We've had a great 3 days of our first week of Art Camp, all different kinds of drawing and painting, bubble painting, paper mache, "leathering" bottles, magic mud batiking, stocking ants, and more!
I've had a few parents asking about next week, so if a few people are interested we'll be able to run the afternoon class, 1 to 4, pass on the word!

Letter to the Art Camp Helpers

Job description:
helping kids with their projects, in charge of more difficult art supplies (ie glue guns), supervising at recess, helping with set up and clean up.

Dates:
August 12th to 16th
and
August 19th to 23rd

Hours:
8:30 to 12 OR 12:30 to 4 for the 2 weeks
OR
8:30 to 4 for one of the weeks (bring your lunch for lunch break)

Benefits:
-babysitting contacts galore
-I’ll write you a great reference letter
-some art supplies gifted to you
-you’ll have time to do a bit of art with everyone also
-if you’re interested in returning next year you’ll be offered a paid position instead of volunteer position

Who the teachers are:
Alisha has lived in Revelstoke for almost 3 years, with her ski guide husband and 3 year old daughter. Over the years she has taught painting, downhilll skiing, swimming, and gymnastics, to both children and adults. She has been a professional artist since 2000, with sculpture and oil painting. Melissa Woodcock has a Bachelor of Education and has taught in Jasper and Asia for 8 years. She recently completed her Visual Arts Degree at Emily Carr and is focusing on her multi-media painting, living in Vancouver. In July she held her 8th successful, fun-filled Artcamp in Jasper.
