I think it’s the kind of day around here to make pie...anyone else making today. Might have to be 2, my family likes Saskatoon (save this post for the recipe) and my dad is here and he’s a raison guy.

This arrived in the mail today. No coincidence that today is also Pampered Chef’s 45th birthday.

45 years ago our founder almost turned her car around and was nervous to go to her first party ever. She did it scared.

So did I, just over 16 years ago, and so have the 100’s of consultants who’ve joined our team over the years.

But this $1,000,000 pin is for all of you who’ve been part of my journey. It’s for the women who invited me into your home even though you didn’t usually entertain, the ones who were sure no one would show up, the ones who weren’t sure where to find basil or cilantro in the grocery store. You were nervous and yet you still said yes. Thank you for trusting me with your cooking questions, tool selections and gift giving.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey in big or small ways.

I feel like things are changing around here, but one thing is for sure… I’ll be in my kitchen ready to share what’s cooking with you.

This weekend I had the honour of joining 108 women, all leaders from across the US and 1 of only 2 Canadians who accepted the invitation to come and learn at our home office in Chicago.

This trip was special for me. For the last year God has walked with on a journey of uncovering the lies that I had let take root in my heart and healing my mind by planting truths ground in the word of God. The last trip through these doors almost 6 years ago left me emotionally wounded and broken.

These are the parts of the story no one sees. This is the part I didn’t understand until I decided that I was the only one with God’s help (and my incredible coach) could do the work to rewrite the story.

Releasing the lies, walking out forgiveness and believing that my freedom was worth fighting for.

I said this a few months ago, and I know it applies here as well. I had no idea that freedom from the lies and traps of the enemy could feel so free.

Thank you to my ladies, to and all of you at home that have walked with me and prayed for me on this journey.

Monday morning I start a new season (more on that to come). Tomorrow is a day of sabbath rest with my family, but today I have tears that this opportunity came up at exactly the right time. Won’t He do it.

Travel for work. Yes please.

When the opportunity to head to the Pampered Chef home office for a couple days of training and networking comes up, it’s a fast yes and an early flight.

This trip is special. My heart is ready.
