ATTRACTION is excited to announce that it now recycles 100% of the textile scraps produced during the manufacturing of its Ethica clothing brand, which is made in Quebec.

Previously, despite efforts to minimize waste during garment cutting, about 18% of fabric ended up in landfills. However, thanks to a new agreement with a local partner, nearly 30 tons of textile waste are now being prevented from ending up in landfills, which is equivalent to about 5 to 6 elephants!

Sébastien Jacques, Vice President of Business Development, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, "We have worked hard over the years and launched several products and initiatives to recycle our leftover fabrics and garments. The recycling of 100% of our textile scraps results from many years of hard work and a passionate team. We are very proud of it!"

Moreover, Attraction has been carbon-neutral since 2022, offsetting 100% of its GHG emissions (categories 1 and 2) through the offsetting organization Less. The company also manufactures bags, t-shirts, and sweatshirts under the Ethica brand using recycled cotton. Sébastien Jacques mentioned that the ultimate goal is to use their textile scraps to create locally recycled cotton yarn for making Ethica products.

The textile scraps collected from Attraction's factories are sent to MTT inc, where they are shredded to create a non-woven product used as soundproof underlayment.
