Maggie has been an important member of the Wise Owl team since August 2025. Over the past seven months, she has gained experience across multiple program areas and now primarily supports the B&A program, where she demonstrates strong adaptability and a genuine commitment to child development.

Maggie is currently a first-year student at the University of Regina, pursuing a Bachelor of Education with a focus on French elementary education. She is working toward a career as an elementary school teacher, with the goal of teaching students from kindergarten through grade four. Maggie is passionate about fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow.

Her dedication to working with children is further reflected in her long-standing involvement with Girl Guides of Canada. After 13 years as a youth member, she has transitioned into her first year as an adult leader with Unit 99. Over the past six years, Maggie has also taken on leadership responsibilities with younger age groups (5–12), where she has helped deliver programming in life skills, science, and outdoor education. These experiences have played a significant role in shaping her future career path.

Outside of her academic and professional commitments, Maggie enjoys creative pursuits such as sewing, crocheting, and painting. She brings creativity, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility to both her work and her studies

🌟 Meet Our Educator/Acting Assistant Director – Simran! 🌟

We are excited to introduce Simranjeet (Simran), a dedicated Early Childhood Educator and an important part of our centre’s leadership team!

🎓 Education & Role at the Centre
Simran graduated from Saskatchewan Polytechnic with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. She currently works with our Kinder / School Age children, where she enjoys supporting their curiosity, creativity, and growing independence through meaningful play and exploration.

Simran has been part of our centre for almost 3 years, and during this time she has worked with all age groups, gaining valuable experience supporting children at different stages of development.

Alongside her work in the classroom, Simran also serves in the office as our Acting Assistant Director, where she plays an active role in supporting the daily operations of the centre. She works closely with the director, staff, and families, helping with organization, communication, and ensuring the centre runs smoothly while maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment.

🌱 Her Philosophy of Learning
Simran believes in the image of the capable and competent child. She values the idea of the “Hundred Languages of Children,” recognizing that children express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions in many different ways—through art, movement, storytelling, building, dramatic play, and conversation.

Guided by the principles of Play and Exploration, Simran believes that play is a powerful way for children to understand and make sense of the world around them. She enjoys creating environments where children can investigate their interests, ask questions, experiment with materials, and build their understanding through hands-on experiences.

Simran also sees the environment as the “third teacher,” where thoughtfully arranged spaces and open-ended materials invite children to explore, imagine, collaborate, and express their ideas creatively.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family & Educational Roots
Simran comes from a joint family in India with a strong legacy in education. Both her grandfather and her mother held respected positions in the education department, which deeply influenced her passion for teaching and learning. Inspired by this family tradition, Simran is proud to continue the journey as a third-generation educator, carrying forward the values of education and lifelong learning.

🎨 Creativity Beyond the Classroom
Outside of daycare, Simran enjoys expressing her creativity in different ways. She runs an online clothing brand Magnus Tailoring Co., where she collaborates with her brother, a fashion designer in India, to create custom clothing designs. She also practices henna (mehndi) artistry part-time for special occasions.

✨ Fun Facts About Simran
• Loves dancing and music
• Enjoys driving and going on long drives
• Loves watching beautiful sunsets
• Passionate about creativity, culture, and design

Simran values building strong relationships with children and families and feels grateful to be part of each child’s learning journey.

💛 If you see Simran around the centre, be sure to say hello!

Tracey, she is our Director of Wise Owl Child Care Inc. Tracey has been leading the Wise Owl team for 16 years now. She has been a dedicated and professional leader to our 25 staff.
Tracey`s leadership is guided by a vision of empowering children, inspiring her staff, and building a community that thrives together. Tracey also takes pride in mentoring her team, while helping each staff member shine within their own strengths, and encouraging learning from one another.
One main thing that makes Tracey a great director is that she thrives in chaos. This helps her embrace challenges, that she turns into opportunities to learn, grow and innovate. For Tracey, equal does not mean eveyone gets the same thing - it means, everyone gets what they need to succeed.

Aside from being our director, Tracey is also a mother of two children. Tracey`s life outside of the centre is filled with camping, hiking, and spontaneous road trips, because the best adventures rarely start with a plan. You can often find Tracey cheering on her children at their sports games, while simultaneously running from one activity to the next (it is always hard to keep up with her!).

Tracey has a "get things done" work ethic, this has been instilled through her love for animals and being outdoors, as well as growing up on a farm and learning to work from a young age. This work ethic is encouraged by a lot of Iced Caps and Coca - Cola.

Tracey loves all kinds of music; it ranges from Disney sing along to metal mosh pits. Tracey has probably been to more heavy rock concerts than most people have pairs of shoes.

Tracey strongly believes every child is unique and that adults can learn just as much from them as they do from us.

Favourite Quote:
"Every child is unique, and every educator brings something to the table. When we support one another and meet people where they are, we create a place where everyone is welcomed into our care and has the chance to grow"

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to create a safe and inclusive environment for all our little Valentine's.
