2026-2027 Supply Lists for St. O's

On June 17th, the Grade Six Class set out on their Outdoor Ed. Trip to Cypress Hills. Our first stop was the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw. We then headed to Swift Current for lunch and continued on to Fort Walsh, where we learned about the History of the RCMP in Canada. The students were very excited to get to Cypress, so we could set up camp and have some fun. We stayed at the Cypress Hills Bible Camp, in cabins, so we could stay warm and dry, as it rained on and off throughout the trip. We hiked around Loch Leven after supper and ended the evening with a campfire. On Thursday morning, we went Zip-lining, which was a highlight for most. The rain continued throughout Thursday, but did stop long enough for us to go horseback riding. We played some GaGa Ball and had another campfire that evening. On Friday we packed up camp and set out on an Interpreter guided hike called Spring In The Cypress Hills. It was then time to head back home. We toured the Chicago Connection Tunnels in Moose Jaw and had some pizza before the final leg of the trip. We arrived home in Radville on Friday night, tired, but full of memories and stories to tell about our adventures. Thank you to Emile Bourssa, Justin Delanoy, Brandis O'Hara, Ross & Patricia Verhelst, and Christina & Brad Vandenhurk for being amazing chaperones. Thanks to Darcy McPhee for lending us his enclosed trailer, so all of our supplies stayed dry. Finally thank you to Mr. Perras and the Grade Six Class for making Mrs. Fisher's final Outdoor Ed. Trip a memorable one!

On June 19, 2026 the Grades 4 and 5 class experienced REGINA!!! The Queen City didn't disappoint! We started at Government House - YOU ALL MUST GO CHECK IT OUT!!!! Then off to the Legislative Building - the magnitude, beauty and vision of that Structure is a testament to the PEOPLE OF SASKATCHEWAN!!! Strong and Beautiful!!!
We ended our day at the RCMP Heritage Museum - where we learned about the History of the NWMP and then had an opportunity to test our own forensic scientist skills!!! Thanks to all the chaperones for making this trip happen! Memories were made every step along the way!!!

On June 12, 2026 the Grades 4 and 5 classes with their teacher Ms. Fiechter and AMAZING chaperones headed WEST!!! First stop was the Rosevalley Hutterite Colony - thanks for the tour and unreal hospitality! Then, next on the agenda was the Willowbunch Museum, again we were treated great! There is so much beautiful history of our FN and Metis and pioneers of this GREAT PROVINCE in that one building! Aust's General store in Big Beaver is a must stop on any western Saskatchewan road trip - one student even purchased a jar of pickles to take home!!!! Castle Butte was the last stop on our journey and it didn't disappoint!!!! What a landmark in our backyard!!!

The Grade 2 and 3 class went to Regina for a Field Trip on Thursday, June 18. We took a bus to Regina which was extra fun! We started our day at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum where we split into 2 groups. Each group went to a program and then they switched. One of the programs involved learning about fossils and creatures of this area throughout different time periods. The other program was about games the First Nations children played in the past. Then we had some time to tour the museum. We ordered pizzas and had them delivered to the Science Centre where we sat on the grass to eat our lunch. We walked to Candy Cane Park and played there for a bit. We split into smaller groups and toured the Science Centre. To end our day we watched an IMAX movie called "Call of the Dolphins" and had popcorn and a drink. Our bus ride home was pretty quiet, as we were all tired from our busy, but super fun day! Thank you to the amazing group of kids for their great behaviour and the chaperones for helping to keep an eye on everyone!!

The Grade K-1s went on a field trip on June 22. We went to the greenhouse where Makenna helped us decorate a plant pot and then choose a flower to plant in it. We also got goodie bags from Rick❤️. After that we headed to the Doctor Clinic for a quick checkup😉 Up next was the Marion Home for a couple rounds of bingo, Radville Laurier Regional Park for a picnic lunch, and an afternoon of swimming!

Gr 5 Science - STEM Mind Storm Kits

On Wednesday, June 3rd, St. Olivier students & staff and several members of our community gathered to celebrate Mrs. Fisher as she approaches retirement at the end of this school year. Mrs. Fisher was surrounded by her family as each grade did a heartfelt presentation that brought laughter, some tears, and a lot of joy to the celebration. Thank you SO MUCH Mrs. Fisher for everything you've done for the students and staff of St. O's and our entire community. We wish you all the best in your retirement!

On May 5th, the staff and students of St. Olivier was treated to Lyndon’s knowledge of his Cree FN Ancestry. We learned so many lessons one of which was about the many DIALECTS of the Cree language.
We always very much enjoy our visits, stories, Q and A and time spent together in the round with our Traditional Knowledge Keeper, Lyndon Linklater.
