We are reaching out to our community for support.

Our daycare has proudly served families in Qualicum Beach for over 11 years. In the past two years alone, we have been forced to relocate three times due to circumstances beyond our control—and now, we are facing our fourth move in less than three years.

We have recently been informed that the Town of Qualicum Beach will not be renewing our lease at the Qualicum Commons building, effective June 30, 2026. This gives not only us, but all businesses within the building, less than three months to find new spaces and relocate.

As many of you know, finding suitable, affordable commercial space in the Qualicum Beach area is extremely challenging. We are urgently searching for a new location that will allow us to continue providing care for the 16 local families currently enrolled, as well as those who are planning to join us in the coming months.

🌟 We’re Hiring! ECEA or ECE – Full-Time Floating Preschool Educator 🌟
📍 Location: Qualicum Beach (Qualicum Commons Building)
🕒 Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday
This is a floating position, with shifts rotating between our Infant/Toddler Centre and our 3–5 Preschool Centre.
Shifts vary between:
• 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM
• 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• 8:45 AM – 4:45 PM
Little Star Preschool is seeking a warm, flexible, and dedicated ECEA or ECE to join our supportive team. This floating role supports both programs as needed. We are a play-based, community-focused centre serving children from infancy through age 5, with collaborative teams and strong educator support.

📌 Job Responsibilities
• Supporting children in both Infant/Toddler and 3–5 programs
• Providing consistent, nurturing care across age groups
• Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
• Daily cleaning and sanitizing duties
• Planning and setting up tabletop activities (rotated weekly with the team)
• Supporting play-based learning and program implementation
• Encouraging social-emotional development and positive peer interactions
• Supervising indoor and outdoor play
• Completing observations and documentation of children’s learning
• Maintaining professional communication with families
• Supporting toileting routines as required by the program
• Participating in centre and community events throughout the year
• Other duties typical of an Early Childhood Educator
