"It's in the third patch of open water at our 11 o'clock... or do you see that darker bit sticking up? Go just a little to the right of that..." 🤦‍♀️😂

This was by far my favourite technique from the Arctic season. Storm lining up her sights using Dema's head as a reference point.

Over 5.5 days, Karin immersed herself in expedition operations, boat handling, navigation, and guide skills training. Through hands-on practice and personalized coaching, she developed the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to work as an expedition guide in remote regions.

Day 1 of our private MK5 Expedition Ops course is in the books. Unreal weather made for the perfect first training day. After spending time navigating shallow waters and learning how to read depth and water features, we took a moment to enjoy the local wildlife. The highlight was a haul-out of at least 40 harbour seals soaking up the sunshine.

A great start to the course, with more skills, challenges, and adventures ahead.

Lisa has spent three seasons in Antarctica and joined us to take her driving skills to the next level. Over the weekend, we focused on situational awareness, balance, and throttle control at high speeds in tight turns, navigating narrow channels with surging swell, catching boats in breaking waves, and mastering the foundations of stern landings. She walked away with more confidence and a whole new set of skills in her toolkit. 🌊🚤

Determination and a combination of skills helped the team retrieve these plastic floats and lines, garbage that had escaped from somewhere and washed up along the outer shoreline of Deception Island, Antarctica.
