UPDATE: the sourdough worked!!! We have a limited number of loaves of original and garlic/parmesan/rosemary but we do have it! Woohoo!!!

What do we have to tantalize your tastebuds this Saturday? That’s a really good question! After yesterday’s sourdough debacle, there’s a chance I’ve fixed the starter problem. I’ll know for sure early tomorrow morning when I go to bake the loaves currently proofing in the fridge. But even if they work, sourdough will be limited tomorrow.

HOWEVER!!! We have cheese bread, cheddar and ale bread, blueberry pies and crumbles, apple crumbles, carrot cakes, piles of cookies and all kinds of seasonal preserves for you to choose from!

Can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow.

Sometimes…things just don’t work. I knew my starter was sluggish and a bit acidic when I mixed bread last night. I knew it likely wasn’t going to work but I had an order to fill so…I made it anyway. So much wasted time, effort and ingredients. These rock hard pancakes were destined for Creasy’s in the morning but they’ll be heading to the garbage instead. I’ve worked on my starter today and hopefully I’ll be able to mix new bread in the morning for Saturday’s farmstand. Time will tell.

Just the best of brunch sandwiches! Our toasted sourdough topped with so many tasty “ingredients”. Freshness at its best. A wonderful taste explosion.

A quick stop at Costco Business Center in Mississauga to restock the bakery pantry! We’re good for a week or two now. Haha!

It’s going to be a bumper day at the farmstand tomorrow! More goodness than you can imagine. We have the first honey of the summer and freshly picked blueberries from Creasy’s Apple Dabble Family Farm. We’re also debuting two new cookie flavours this week. Tons of pies and crumbles for your family dinner. You don’t want to miss all this yumminess.
