We had a great morning at Loyalist College’s Career Fair!

It was so nice meeting students, chatting about Lighthouse, and connecting with some potential future tutors! 😎

We’re SO excited to welcome Sophia to the team, tutoring out of both our Picton & Napanee locations! 😎

Sophia comes to us with extensive tutoring experience, particularly in elementary literacy and math. She has also worked with a curriculum-led summer literacy program supporting students in Grades 2–6, giving her even more hands-on experience helping young learners strengthen their reading, writing and foundational skills. 🙌

And she’s just getting started! Sophia will be entering a Concurrent Education program next year as she works toward becoming a teacher.

With her experience, passion for education and ability to connect with young learners, we know Sophia is going to be an amazing addition to our team 👉 and we’re so excited for our students to work with her!

Biggest struggle so far?! Apparently it’s not the math. Not the scheduling. Not even the kids…

It’s keeping his voice! 😅

Turns out 100+ tutoring sessions a week = a LOT of talking. Hope that voice makes it to June. 😉

We’re hosting our first ever Family Night at our Napanee office! 👀

Stop by on Friday, October 2nd anytime between 5:30–7:30 PM to meet us, check out our space and learn a little more about what we do at Lighthouse.

Our Founders will both be there to chat about our K–12 tutoring programs, answer questions and show you what our diagnostic process looks like and how we use it to figure out where a student may need some extra support. 😎

No need to register or book anything 👉 just drop in! Whether you’ve been considering tutoring for your child or you’re simply curious about Lighthouse, we’d love to meet you! 💜

Nothing like a Blizzard for a good cause!🍦

We had to make a Dairy Queen run today to support the United Way HPE Campaign Launch!

Today, $2 from every Blizzard sold at Belleville and Trenton Dairy Queen locations is being donated to United Way HPE 👉 so naturally, we had to grab a couple 😉

A sweet way to support our community! 💛

We did the math… and we need more tutors! 😅

We’re hiring across all Lighthouse locations, with a priority right now for Picton, Napanee & Stirling. 📍

Maybe you’re an engineering student who would be great with our high school math, functions or physics students. Maybe you’re studying health sciences or life sciences and could help with biology, chemistry or senior science. Maybe you’re in Con Ed or your B.Ed and want more experience working one-on-one with students. Maybe you’re an ECE who loves early literacy and foundational math. Or maybe you’re a teacher or retired teacher who would love to spend a few hours a week working with students again!

We’re looking for a variety of strengths 👉 French, reading & writing, elementary math, high school math, functions, biology, chemistry, physics and more.

Our tutors work one-on-one with students, hours are flexible, and we provide the materials, resources and support you need. You bring the subject knowledge, patience and ability to connect with your students. 💜

Whether you’re looking to build experience, put your degree to use in a different way, or just genuinely enjoy helping students learn, we’d love to hear from you!

Back to school is here! 🍎✏️

New teachers, new routines, new expectations 👉 it can take a little time to find your footing.

We’re back into the swing of things at Lighthouse and ready for another year of helping students build their skills, work through the tricky stuff, and feel more confident in the classroom. 💛

Here’s to a great school year ahead! 📚

One of the best parts of tutoring is the connections that go far beyond the classroom. 💛

Our Stirling tutor, Becky, recently went to Tweed to cheer on one of her students in their play! 🎭

We love seeing our tutors show up for their students, celebrate what they’re passionate about, and remind them that we’re cheering them on both inside and outside of tutoring.

Way to go! 👏💛
