A message too important to miss.

Recognize the signs of human trafficking:
- Sudden changes in behaviour, appearance or lifestyle
- Signs of fear, anxiety, intimidation or submissiveness
- Limited contact with family, friends or support networks
- Long working hours with little to no pay

Encourage open discussions about online safety, healthy relationships and recruitment tactics. Stay engaged and trust your instincts if something does not feel right.

Unfortunately, this is the best strategy for phone calls you don’t recognize. Just don’t answer even if you feel compelled to.

is reminding everyone in Oxford County that a legit business will never ask you for remote access to your cell phone or computer to pay a bill to them. They will also never ask for payment by gift card.
Although it may feel rude to not answer a phone call, that strategy is turning into being one of the best to
If you don't recognize a phone call, don't answer it. If it is someone you know, or a business you deal with regularly, they will leave a message.
Call them back using the contact number you regularly use.
These are really good liars and if you start talking to them, they may trick you. It's best to just avoid their call altogether.
On July 28, 2026, a person in lost $700 by providing a caller, who said they were a business, access to their cell phone. In addition they were asked to send $500 worth of gift cards.
