Early Childhood Education is facing a growing crisis defined by workforce shortages, inadequate workspaces, and rising educator burnout. ECE professionals are under immense pressure—managing high child-to-teacher ratios, limited resources, and emotional strain—while lacking the physical and institutional space needed to sustain their work. These conditions drive high attrition rates, destabilizing childcare programs and limiting access for families. Without urgent, coordinated action to create SPACE—by addressing shortages, reducing pressure, preventing attrition, and investing in childcare education—the ECE system will continue to erode, impacting educators, children, and communities alike.
