🎲 Tomorrow is the day to come and join us for some free board game play time!

If you are looking for something fun to do with the family tomorrow, come spend an afternoon playing board games with us at Brierley's Independent Grocer in Riverside South!

Whether you've played with The Board Game Clubhouse before or have never picked up a modern board game, everyone is welcome.

We'll have a huge selection of games for all ages and experience levels, and our volunteers will be there to teach the rules so you can jump right in and start having fun.

Bring the kids, bring the grandparents, bring a friend, or just come on your own. There's no experience required, no registration, and no cost to attend. We will find a table for anyone who shows up!

It's been a busy few months behind the scenes, and we wanted to share everything that's happening!

📚 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧!

Whether you're spending the summer at home or heading to the cottage, our Lending Library is a great way to discover your next favourite game. We offer 2-week rentals at affordable prices, giving families the chance to try modern board games without the cost of buying them first.

If you've been looking for something new to play this summer, we now have 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 370 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔, so we'd love to help you find the perfect game!

🏫 𝐖𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬

Early next week, we'll be meeting with more than 15 amazing volunteers to begin planning our expansion into 4-5 new schools for the upcoming school year.

If you have school-aged children and would love to see The Board Game Clubhouse at your school, let us know in the comments or send us a message! Tell us which school your child attends, and we'll do our best to connect with the principal and explore bringing our program there.

Throughout the summer, we'll be hosting 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 and evenings to get more families around the table and introduce even more kids to the amazing world of modern board games.

These events will also give our volunteers valuable experience teaching games and helping new players discover the hobby.

Most events will take place in Riverside South, but we'd love to bring a few to other parts of the city as well. If you know of a community centre, church, library, or other venue that might be a great fit, we'd love to hear your suggestions!

A huge thank you to QIDI for their incredible support of The Board Game Clubhouse!

A little while ago, they generously donated a QIDI Q2C 3D printer, and it has already become an invaluable part of our organization. We've been using it to create custom board game inserts to help organize and allow our games to get to the table quicker, as well as printing replacement components to keep the games on the table instead of on the shelf waiting for replacement parts.

This printer helps us extend the life of our collection, improve the experience for our members, and make our resources go even further.

QIDI recently featured The Board Game Clubhouse on their blog, and we're incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share what we're building and how their support is helping us grow.

First off, thank you so much to everyone who has helped test the program so far. The feedback and support have been incredibly helpful while I work through the final adjustments.

Before launch, I’m looking for one last round of community feedback to help shape the program moving forward.

As a thank you for participating:

✅ Anyone who joins before launch will receive a reduced membership deposit of $60 instead of the standard $75.

✅ Anyone who provides feedback will be entered into a draw for a free board game from a selection of donated titles, including games like Concordia, Beyond the Sun, Unmatched: Battle of Legends, Pictures, and more!

I’ll be sending feedback questions directly to participants, covering things like:
• the borrowing process
• the game library
• the Terms of Service
• accessibility and barriers to joining
• ideas for improving the program moving forward

The goal is to make this program as welcoming, affordable, and community-focused as possible, so every bit of feedback genuinely helps.

The Beta will close on June 6th, with the full launch coming very soon after.

Week 4 is here

This week at the Clubhouse, we are spending time with dice and card games! Two of the most fun and flexible types of games, full of quick turns, big moments, and lots of “let’s see what happens” energy.

Some games will have you rolling and hoping for the best, others will have you carefully playing out your hand, and most will be a mix of both. Either way, there is always something to think about and a chance to turn things around on your next turn.

Whose turn is it to roll the dice or deal those cards!

Rolling into Week 3 of Session 4 🎲🃏

This week at the Clubhouse, we are combining two of my favourite styles of games, dice games and card games! These games are quick to learn, full of fun decisions, and always keep you guessing from turn to turn.

Sometimes you are working with a lucky roll, sometimes you are managing a tricky hand, and sometimes you are just trying to make the best choice with what you have been dealt. Every turn matters, and every game tells a different story.

Let’s see who can make the most of their cards, their dice, and a little bit of timing along the way!

The Board Game Club is back with a brand new 6-week session at Wizard’s Tower!

Each week, students will explore a different style of modern board game, from strategy and teamwork to fast-paced and social games. No experience needed, and experienced players will still find plenty of challenge.
