EcoEquitable Inc. make our a reality. Spring is here and is in abundance - can't wait to see how these amazing folks make new use of extra space!

Dear Sewists, Fabric Enthusiasts, and EcoEquitable Friends,

EcoEquitable is making a significant change to our operations. As of today, we are making a big physical change and closing daily operations of our recycled fabric boutique. We have an acute need for more office space, production space, and a functional (non-storage) lunch room. Also, we do not receive a regular flow of visitors to the boutique.

We will continue with our MEGA fabric sales which are very popular and allow us to meet our mission of keeping fabric out of landfills and offering affordable fabric to the community. We will of course continue to accept fabric donations.

This is a bittersweet moment for us – we all adore the boutique, but our need for more space has forced us to review our operations and make this decision.

Thank you so much for your support. We look forward to seeing you at a future fabric sale and many of the new projects that we are cooking up (more on those soon!)

A little history:

Our first fabric boutique was a converted basement closet on Chapel Street. From there, we moved to our current location in Vanier with a beautiful, bright, open space. The boutique has served as a hub for sewists looking for low cost, eco-fabrics. It appealed to sewing hobbyists and owners of small-scale home sewing business interested in minimizing their impact on the environment. Many projects were made with fabric from our boutique. Our mission has always been to make fabric affordable and accessible to local sewists.

We will continue to be a leading resource for diverting thousands of pounds of textiles from Ottawa landfills.

EcoEquitable will continue accepting fabric donations to use for our Sewing For Jobs program, sewing classes, and fabric sales. Yes! –you can still buy fabric at our quarterly mega fabric sales that you know and love.

Our next fabric sale is June 17, 2017.

We are stoked to be featured at RAW Artists Ottawa 's annual showcase. VERSE is an incredible night of visual art, fashion, music film, performance art, LOGS of course, and drinks and good times too.
