These are students’ final projects in Physics 12- SPH4U. They created Chained Machines and explained all the Physics laws involved in their machines!

These videos were shared by students. Students then received random videos from a partner (they didn't know their partners in advance) and had to comment and share feedback with each other about the Physics laws involved in their Circular Motion experiments. This assignment checks off many boxes: Triangulation (Peer-to-peer Conv/ Teacher Observation/Product - Super creative and engaging for students because all videos are different and they weren't bored during the conversation - and most importantly they are a VERY STRONG group!

A little late, but Happy Holidays from our Orbit students' pets! They finished off 2024 strong with mid-terms, finishing projects, door decorating contests, and baking contests! We look forward to what 2025 has to offer here at online Blyth! 🥳

BIG THANK YOU to all those who shared photos of their Holiday Baked Goods! We have true talents at Blyth Academy, Orbit! Your skills are AMAZING! It was hard to decide, but we have all agreed that one student has blown us away with their creativity and with their ability to spread the HOLIDAY JOY among their friends in class by showing and sharing details about their stunning baked treats!

What's been happening at Blyth Academy Orbit lately?
Recently, students raised money for the Movember fundraiser raising awareness for men's health issues which was a big success!
They have also been doing experiments from home for science class just like this one! This is one of our international Orbit students modelling rocket height using quadratics.

Happy World Environment Day!
Our Orbit Student Council members and students from the Environmental Science class may be scattered across our planet but it really is a small world that we all share. Students from Cayman Islands, Egypt, Haiti, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and other locations around the world, meet daily in our virtual classrooms to learn from our amazing teachers, and the focus this term has been environmental responsibility, and what each of us can do in our own part of the world to make a difference. Students are wishing you all a happy Environment Day and reminding you of the responsibilities we have to our environment through this video they created! Not your stereotypical 'online' classes. Our virtual classrooms extend beyond the screen to make learning meaningful, interactive and highly engaging. As a sampling.... GlobeEducate celebrates STEAM and Math International day in the weeks of March 4th and 11th. For that, Orbit students have been working so hard to be a part of this big event! Calculus students have applied Derivatives to design and optimize functions that can have the possibility of creating a positive change in the world. Functions students have hand-constructed their rockets, launched them using air, water, Mentos and coke. They have modelled their rockets heights above the ground using Quadratics. Everyone has demonstrated phenomenal ability to apply "STEAM" in their learning and most importantly, everyone had TONS of fun! Blyth Academy Globeducate
