Brazilians living abroad… what’s the weirdest thing you’ve accidentally translated into English? 🇧🇷😂

If you speak Brazilian Portuguese (or you’re learning it), you know exactly what I mean…

Some sayings just don’t translate properly.
Everything sounds dramatic.
And somehow… it still makes perfect sense.

Because Brazilian culture isn’t logical.

It’s expressive.
It’s emotional.
It’s FULL of personality.

And that same energy?

That’s exactly what we bring into Brazily® Dance.

Not just steps.
Not just a workout.

It’s confidence.
It’s connection.
It’s that “I don’t care, I’m doing this anyway” energy.

That’s why people don’t just take a class…
they get hooked.

Especially if you’re:
• Brazilian living abroad 🇧🇷
• Learning Brazilian Portuguese
• A dance instructor or dance fitness instructor
• Or just someone who loves Brazilian music, culture, and vibes

You feel this differently.

So now I’m curious…

If you’re Brazilian or learning Brazilian Portuguese,
what’s your favorite saying?

Drop it below 👇💚💛

If you’re not Brazilian, here’s the joke. 😂🇧🇷🇪🇬

No, this isn’t the first time Brazil and Egypt have played each other.

But for decades, Brazilians have been dancing to an old song that starts with:

“Essa é a mistura do Brasil com Egito…”
(“This is the mix of Brazil and Egypt…”)

Like a lot of classic Brazilian dance songs from the early 2000s, the lyrics are completely random, ridiculously catchy, and came with their own dance that everybody knew.

So when Brazil vs Egypt showed up on the schedule this week, the entire internet immediately thought of this song. 😂

🇧🇷 For Brazilians living abroad, it’s pure nostalgia.
💚 For people who love Brazil, welcome to our sense of humor.
💃 For dancers and dance instructors, it’s proof that some songs never leave your body.

Now be honest…

Now tell me… did YOU start singing it the second you saw Brazil vs Egypt?

This song gets me through the hard days. 🇧🇷💚💛

People see the Brazilian dance classes.

The events.

The music.

The community.

What they don’t see are the setbacks, self-doubt, difficult decisions, and long days that come with building a business from the ground up.

Whenever I hit one of those moments, I come back to Tá Escrito by Grupo Revelação.

As a Canadian who moved to Brazil as a teenager, Brazilian music became one of the things that helped me find confidence, belonging, and joy during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

That’s why this song still hits me every time.

Because Brazilian music isn’t just about dancing or partying.

It’s about resilience.

Hope.

Faith.

Community.

And believing that better days are coming.

Honestly, that’s what we try to bring into every Brazily Dance class too.

Not just movement.

Not just dance fitness.

But confidence, courage, connection, and joy.

When I look at how far we’ve come, the students we’ve impacted, and our growing team of Brazily Dance instructors bringing this mission to new communities, I’m incredibly grateful.

Not because the journey has been easy.

Because it has been worth it.

Most dance instructors are trying to grow their classes the hard way.

Posting nonstop.
Overthinking content.
Obsessing over algorithms.
Hoping people magically show up.

But the instructors building the strongest communities usually do ONE thing differently:

They create EXPERIENCES people actually want to be part of.

That’s why I’ve become obsessed with helping instructors think beyond just choreography and start thinking more like community builders and business owners.

Because people don’t just come back for workouts anymore.

They come back for:
✨ connection
✨ energy
✨ belonging
✨ the feeling your class gives them

I recently started a free community called Teach Profitable Dance Classes for dance and dance fitness instructors who want to:
• fill classes more consistently
• create loyal communities
• stop relying only on social media
• actually make income doing what they love

I’ll also be sharing details soon about an upcoming workshop where I’ll break down the event-based strategies we use to grow classes and create experiences people talk about.

Comment or DM “GROUP” and I’ll send you the link 💃

Brazilians already know this one 😂🇧🇷
Non-Brazilians… good luck! 🤞🍀

What does ‘dá seus pulos’ (“give your jumps”) ACTUALLY mean?”
