After surveying thousands of educators in Ontario, this report aims to go beyond statistics and answer the questions of how and why workplace violence occurs in the education system.

A new report from , "Running on Fumes: Violence, Austerity, and Institutional Neglect in Ontario Schools", features first-hand data and testimony from teachers across the province – including Catholic teachers – painting a sobering picture of the escalating violence in Ontario schools. This comprehensive research will be a vital tool in the Association’s ongoing fight to raise public awareness, push for better protections, and demand the changes needed to ensure safe learning and working conditions for all.

This in-depth report presents a scathing analysis of a growing crisis of violence in Ontario's publicly funded schools. This report underscores how decades of austerity-driven funding cuts have culminated in an education system that is truly at the breaking point. We equally have endeavoured to go beyond shocking statistics (although plenty are included) to consider the why and how questions.
