Leading voices from across Canada—including human rights, Indigenous, labour, and environment leaders—are calling on the federal government to halt a proposed free trade agreement with Ecuador, which poses a serious threat to human rights, Indigenous rights and the environment.

📣This call echoes longstanding opposition from Indigenous organizations, environmental defenders and civil society groups in Ecuador who have urged international allies to act.

✊Together, we are standing in solidarity with our Ecuadorian counterparts to urge both governments to halt the Canada-Ecuador Free Trade Agreement!

An empowered ombudsperson could help hold Canadian companies accountable for serious harm to human rights, workers, and the environment around the world.

We need corporate accountability now!

The office meant to hold corporations accountable for labour and human rights abuses abroad has been sitting without the Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE) position for a year.

The CORE was created to protect workers and communities impacted by Canadian companies. Instead of strengthening it, the government has let it stall.

We’re standing with the Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability - RCRCE to demand action.
