Wondering why your child writes “jakit” instead of “jacket”? That’s a normal learning stage called phonetic spelling. It shows they are starting to connect sounds to letters.
If spelling is still a struggle, educational therapy can support through explicit teaching of spelling rules.

Wondering why your child hates homework? Many kids struggle not because they’re lazy, but because the work feels overwhelming, confusing, or frustrating. With the right strategies and support, homework can become a manageable part of their routine. 💡✨

I was the student with the IEP.I was pulled from class without knowing why.I was given a laptop to use assistive technology but no intervention to strengthen my reading and spelling skills.I was given extra time on tests, but that meant sitting alone in a separate room.
I remember feeling embarrassed to say I had an IEP.
IEPs should be used the way they’re intended:To support, intervene, and empower students.
If you have a child with an IEP, I see them.Because I was them.

One of the best ways to improve reading fluency is through rereading!
Rereading helps students process words more automatically, leading to smoother reading. Ultimately this allows students to experience what fluent reading feels like.
Try using UFLI decodable texts at home! Have your child read the same story 2-3 times a day to build confidence and fluency.
DM me “REREAD”, and I’ll send you the link to the decodable texts! 📚✨
