Whether you’re brand new to on-camera acting or looking to sharpen your skills, this dynamic Acting for the Cameraclass is designed for all experience levels and focuses on the essential tools needed to succeed in film and television.
Actors will explore the unique techniques required for on-camera performance, learning how subtle choices, authenticity, and connection translate powerfully on screen. Through hands-on exercises, mock auditions, self-tape practice, scene study, and personalized coaching, students will gain confidence both in front of the camera and in the audition room.

Welcome to our 6-session introduction to acting course! Whether you're a complete beginner or have some previous experience, this course is designed to give you a solid foundation in the craft of acting. Over the course of six weeks, we'll explore a range of topics and techniques that will help you develop your skills as an actor. We'll cover the basics of character development, script analysis, and improvisation, as well as more advanced techniques like emotional recall and sense memory. In each session, you'll have the opportunity to work on scenes and exercises with your classmates, and receive feedback and guidance from our experienced instructor. By the end of the course, you'll have a better understanding of the fundamentals of acting and be better equipped to take on more advanced training or pursue your own acting projects.

This unique 8-week course offers participants the opportunity to develop a practical process for acting—from preparation and rehearsal all the way to performance. Whether you have some experience or are an absolute beginner, this class provides an excellent opportunity to build upon existing skills in a supportive and fun environment. Throughout the course, you will learn and refine practical acting techniques through structured preparation and rehearsal. You'll tap into your creativity with engaging exercises and scene work. Under the guidance of Actor/Director Joey McDougall, you'll work on a one-act play or scene showcase, culminating in a live performance for an invited audience of family and friends.
